I certainly understand the marketing and merchandising aspect but man they really are trying to push these short sleeve jerseys.

Yeah, it's all a money grab.
I'm not a fan of those jerseys.

Just one more thing for ESPN to beat in to the ground for the next week. On the one hand, everyone wants equality, but would a straight player get this kind of coverage for signing with a team? How is that equal?

It's not equal. Neither has been the suppression & abuse to the LGBT Community. The press make it bigger than it really is.

Press: How long have you been a black quarterback?

    Doug Williams: wtf?

The guy got a 10-day contract, wasn't that good when he played before with Boston and Washington, and is, at best, a 13th guy on a 12-man roster. Yet somehow because he's gay he gets all this press. I can only imagine because he does what he does for a living, that he didn't have to put up with much in the way of ridicule for coming out. That to me is an insult to the rest of the gay community who are just living their everyday life.

One of the reasons I quit watching/listening to ESPN (and sportstalk in general) is we'll never hear the end of it.

You seem to very the only one here who has a problem with it.

I guess you never noticed when Tebow was making news ...

I live in Denver. Considering the Broncos were the team that drafted him, it was hard not too. Another personality ESPN latched onto and beat into the ground.

blyons200 These pretzels are making me thirsty.

Sorry Semi but the only thing better than the Lakers failures would be a collapse of the Miami Heat. I hate the Lakers.

As a Royals fan, I can see why you'd have an aversion to winning. :ducks and runs:

The Lakers won't be contenders again until Jim Buss sells the team (for about $2.5B) to someone who wants to build a winning team :)
