Howard Stern is live this week on SiriusXM Howard 100 and the SiriusXM app.

On today's show, we had a tribute to David Crosby and some NFL discussion with what the bet between Richard and JD should be.

Jon Lovitz came in and shared some SNL stories. Pamela Anderson comes in on Wednesday and...everyone's gonna hate next week's hiatus. (I think they're off next week.)

A week off already??

I counted 95 shows for 2022 and 96 shows for 2021. That averages less than two shows a week!

Nothing changes year to year except for when there's a new contract.

It's federal holidays, one week off per month (sometimes two consecutive) and then summers off.

From 2011-2020, it was 112 days (exception for 2011 when they alternated Thursdays on/off.)

Wednesday 3/11/2020 was supposed to be live, but they took it off.

The following week was a regularly-scheduled week off.

Monday 3/23/2020 began the shows from the bunker, including the show that had the awful-quality sound because it was via Zoom.

Howard did 112 shows in 2020 as he was required. He worked MLK Day 2020. He took an "emergency day off" on 3/11/2020, but worked on President's Day 2021 to make up his "emergency day off" even though SiriusXM said it wasn't a big deal.

From 2011-2015...that was when they began with alternating Thursdays on/off with the "This Day In Howard History" shows. Howard also took off many Wednesdays (instead of a full week) to do AGT.

The 2016-2020 contract was three days a week with the crazy summers where they'd be off two weeks, back for one, off one or whatever it was.

And none of this would seem as awful if we had live programming all day long.

Robin forgot something today!

We had "Compassionate Alice" leave a message. It was the real Angry Alice, but she was feeling compassion for the pig that Beth and Howard were trying to save.

Robin said it had been a while since she called in. She called in recently and wasn't really upset. Howard did that dumb door knock to try to anger her and she wasn't upset at that.

Pro-tip: Have a low expectation for this NFL bet. Apparently the fan of the losing team has to make out with Ronnie.

Don't fret, Howard will be in 5 times soon enough, ya ya, that's the ticket!!!!

Honestly, I bet this is as low as he goes in regards to show count.

We should have an idea in about two years from now if he's coming back in 2026 or not. There was a theory a few cycles ago that he really wanted to give it up, but he's still in it partially for Beth and North Shore Animal League.

And I do think he really wants to go out big...from the studio. I cannot see him ending his career on a whimper and from home.

Let's go to JD for a pronunciation lesson. (Does anyone else see the irony here?)

Ben-gulls is actually correct. It's a weird thing that we all say bayn-gulls, even though it seems more natural.

Richard is gross and I can't get enough of it. The kitty litter at the tailgate...classic Richard!

To be honest though, the "best by" dates are exactly that. Marketing.

I've had snack foods a day or three after their dates and turned out fine.

Next week on Howard 101:

25 years of Benjy!

Each day will have a different person talking about how he got started on the show, what it was like to get kicked out of the studio, etc. On Friday, a visit from the man himself!

This week's Sternthology Live had a clip from the SS Mund and a 1/9/06 segment.

"One night... William Shatner...looked down...at my wang ...."

"My boyfriend's...wang...is 28...massive ...inches..."

So...

The losing fan has to make out with Ronnie, assuming this bet actually gets carried out.

I predict JD would be a funnier situation because he's the Mumbling Mystic...but I bet Richard would be more into it, thus better.

Edit: It's just after halftime and it appears it'll be JD making out.

The Pamerla Anderson documentary is on Netflix now. There's clips of Howard (and Artie's voice) in it. Artie asked if it was on DVD.

There's a little bit of her puss in it. As Bubba might say "it's bald eagle jones" and for some reason, I was surprised that it was.

OMG... How'd I forget about Rick Solomon? Of course, that was the Paris Hilton thing when a called used the n-word.

I'm listening to 2002 right now and the N word comes up pretty regularly. That's big change from 2002 to 2004. Plus didn't he do the DMX parody "My (Radio) Niggaz" in 2000. Stern, Fred and Jackie said the word like 100 times in that song.

Yeah...that whole controversy came back maybe a year or so ago with the Blackface stuff.

A caller used the n-word. Howard immediately hung up on the guy and then he got thrown off Clear Channel which was part of the reason for the move to eh eh eh.
