SIRIUS XM’s New Year’s Nation channel, SIRIUS channel 3 and XM channel 23, is custom-created to serve as the ultimate soundtrack to New Year’s Eve parties around the country and will feature the biggest, upbeat party hits from genres across SIRIUS XM’s music platform. The channel will launch on Thursday, December 31 at 3:00 pm ET and will air through Friday, January 1 at 6:00 pm ET.

I missed last year's New Year's channel, but this year's channel is as good as the first one they did a couple years ago. Again, this channel plays songs that no other station plays, it reminds me how much I love "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" by Wang Chung, and again, it's my pick for the next station Sirius/XM adds full-time, as a party music channel.

The only thing I didn't like is that Party City played U2's "New Year's Day," after they did the countdown for each coast. This version plays little snippets of Auld Langs Syne, which is okay, but not as good as U2.

But overall, a 4.5 rounded to 5 Stars

Did I also mention it's not censored? :ter:

I listened to this one quite a bit last night and this afternoon... and it's pretty good. Got to hear some Funky Cold Medina by Tone Loc!

... and for the first time since mid-November, Sirius XM Love is back to regular programming.

A good mix of songs from different decades, most of would have been in the Top 100 countdown of their respective year. :dj2:

Certainly had a much larger playlist than most of their channels. Too bad it is already gone!

I listened to this channel on the 31st for about half an hour. It was good. They played Lady Gaga and KC and the Sunshine Band back to back

Yes, it is ashame that this channel only comes once a year, and for such a short time, at that :worried:

Great idea. 5 out of 5 Stars

I enjoyed it.....kind of reminded me of an upbeat version of Super Shuffle.

Too bad that don't have it on like from Dec 26 to Jan 4th or something like that. This would give more folks time to listen to it.

That is a very good description!

I'm trying to find one of the songs played on New Year's Nation on NYE.

I went through DogStar's search, but there doesn't seem to be any data for anything between 12/21 and 1/4. I also tried XMFan's search, but that only searches on artist and title, not day/time.

If anyone cares, and if it helps, I'm trying to find the song played before Falco's Rock Me Amadeus on 12/31 between 8pm and 11:30pm. I had Sirius Channel 3 playing in the background during our NYE party. One of the guests, a 45 year old man, asked if the music could be changed because the song playing reminded him of the heavy metal music his teenage nephew listens to. As he was making that statement, the next song that came on was "Rock Me Amadeus". I know the song that had been playing was not heavy metal, but I can't remember what it was.
