Yes!
I am excited so much by these new online only (for now) channels I have to post more about them. I will feature a new channel every week, and encourage everyone to listen and share their thoughts on it, and rate it via the rating system on the thread (stars).

This week (Usually new channel threads will be on a Monday, this one is starting early) is:

Rockin' Frat Party

"Whether you’ve ever blown out the speakers in a frat house or not, hear music for a party rockin’ your campus or home!"

From What I've listened to throughout today, it's pretty good. a lot of 90's grungey rock tunes, some bands like Muse seems misplaced at times with certain songs, but overall, a nice alternative to 90's/lithium.

I'll have to listen more another time, but what I heard was good :)

Hard to find on the mobile app. Had to scroll past all the music to find the Party Channels :(

This Bush classic came on ;) (Fuzzy was my frog. Everything's Zen. Everything's Zen. I don't think so)

We gotta dance, and rubba-dub. We gotta dance & be as one :)

I heard Clint Eastwood on here. That was in 2001. Good stuff

Who said '90s music sucked? :(

Yeah, there is definitely some remains of alt nation about 5-7 years ago. But there is more variety for the most part. I think it's funny that these are 'frat party' songs, and like you said, a lot of it is alt nation crossover from a few year ago, but that's not a bad thing. Most of those songs fit right in. I didn't like the lack of structure as far as the music styles went at first, but I am starting to get in to it.

I have not listened to these yet but I remember trying MegaPartyMix when it came out and thought it was horrifically bad they way it jumped around. Tried it awhile later at work and become hooked in a day. Listened to it a week straight and loved it. They got rid of it at the end of that week. Was really bummed. I will try these new ones out at work and see how it goes.

Of course it has to be a online channel now that I lost my unlimited data plan :D

The on line access is sounding more appealing. The Village, Navidad, Elevations and now Party Mega Mix.
Just FYI- Party Mega Mix did not come back. We got a new Party Mega Mix Category with 11 new channels at the same time we got the Holiday Category.

Plus you get Album Covers on the Holiday channels which makes it much more Festive! The All Access plan is the way to go which combines Satellite & Internet all in one package.

Great idea Grüpsaar :bigclap: I was working on a big post under New Online Channels, but this will work even better. I like seeing other DRC members get excited about cool changes happening!

House of Pain- Jump Around
Offspring- Why Dont You Get A Job
Snow- Patrol Take Back The City

Been listening today too.
From Rob Zombie to Fun to Jet, it's quite the mix!
I like it so far.

A MySXM mix option would be a pretty cool addition.
That, and a Boombox party channel! ;)

Imagine putting 5 of these party channels on the lynx presets and turning on the channel shuffle feature. That'd be the ultimate mix. Too bad Thats a sat channel only option, and these are internet only.

Alright, I did a little experiment to see what the variety is currently. I started listening 11/21 at about 10am until 12pm and heard the following songs that were also on SIRIUSaboutXM's list:

Foster The People- Don't Stop (Color On The Walls).
Harvey Danger-Flagpole Sitta
R.E.M.-It's The End Of The World As We Know It

There were also other songs from Bush (mentioned earlier) and Offspring, but not these songs, so sounds like they're doing quite well with variety.

I don't know what Alt Nation used to sound like just prior to the merger (or Ethel for that matter) but this playlist sounds a lot like Lithium (or Lucy) with a little bit of current Alt Nation & First Wave (they played The Cars) sprinkled in. And...Amy Winehouse???.... I'm almost wondering if this is a virtualization of if you put these three stations as your favorites on a Lynx.

I'll give my full feedback tomorrow, as well as I also want to do some comparison with Slacker's party stations (which this category very much seems inspired by).

I seem to remember Rehab by Amy Winehouse being played on AltNation when it came out. AltNation was about the only new music channel I listened to at the time ... :)

Sounds: Upbeat emphasis on 90s and early 2000s alternative. A little sprinkling of 80s alternative and new alternative

Positives: Repetition did appear to be kept at a minimum

Negatives: It seems to mostly be the same playlist as Lithium with maybe a little less grunge, and occasionally some Alt Nation. I'm not sure this is a mix that we couldn't easily get elsewhere. Also, it's censored

Blastability: Very High. This is a party after all!

Overall: It's a good enough channel but nothing special about it that would keep me coming back

I also compared this to:

Sounds: Upbeat emphasis on new alternative. A little sprinkling of 80s hard rock and 90s and early 2000s alternative

Positives: Repetition always at a minimum on Slacker

Negatives: In comparison to other stations on Slacker, it may be unique. It's nearly an identical presentation of what I can get on Alt Nation currently so not necessarily a positive over that

Blastability: Pretty High. Although it doesn't rock nearly as much as Sirius XM's Frat Party does

Overall: I usually use Slacker to seek out different music and genres so this wouldn't necessarily be a regular stop for me

I consider these channels Mood Music- Party themed songs for different ages and crowds at gatherings.

The less Alice in Chains & Soundgarden, the better!

That's why I can't compare it to Lithium. The hard rock in Lithium makes me want to change the channel.

I'm more The Offspring. U2. Beck.

I'm not a Bush fan, but I can listen to them somewhat.

Grunge. Not party music :hhh:
