Not the K-Pop band?

They fall into the forgotten band category too.
Every once in a rare while, I'll hear this on SXM.
It was a fun track for sure.


Loved this band back in the day.

It's funny how utterly stupid rock bands looked, especially the metal bands.
Grunge made everyone look dumb.

I was noticing how coincidental it was that early '70s female singer-songwriter & James Taylor cowriter Carole King came up right after early '70s female singer-songwriter & James Taylor partner Carly Simon. Then I realized you're using the first letter of first name alphabetizing. I go by last name on people, and first letter on groups.

Using my mp3 collection which, according to Microsoft, goes 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D.... In my CD collection I have people by last name "Ezra, Adam" like you, but I didn't want it that way in my mp3 collection so that is "Adam Ezra".

iTunes ordered it the same way. First name letter determines the sort order unless the first word is The.

Other: I do like their pre-Heartbeat City stuff too, but I was sick of their early hits for a couple decades (thank you FM) and have just started getting back into those songs. Their 2011 album has two great songs: "Blue Tip" and "Sad Song" -- I listen to those two more than any other Cars songs because they haven't been overplayed.

Discovered: Was a fan of his previous project Circle Of Dust

Other: One of the music acts I've spent the most money on. He's been indie all along. If you want new tunes, you gotta buy the merch (though I've heard he gets most of his money from licensing instrumental music to movies and video games). I've probably bought a dozen t-shirts and 2 copies of every CD. Plus I've exposed dozens of people to his music in person, and probably hundreds via my FM show. His most known song is "Switchback" but it's not my fav.

Discovered: Looking for new music while writing music reviews 2008-2010.

Other: Was a James Brown impersonator with the stage name Black Velvet. A record label guy heard him and signed him. Put together a band for him. Great stuff! My #1 fav is a collab, a bit different than his norm. The rest of them sound like classic 60s soul. He passed in 2017, RIP.

Other: They sounded like a Deftones-copycat band to me in the early years (especially "Send The Pain Below", which feels like a "Be Quiet And Drive" ripoff), so I didn't really get into them. But starting with 2009's Sci-Fi Crimes (featuring my #1 & #3 below) I really started digging their stuff. My band opened for them in 2010. They're great live. My band's singer crushed on the frontman for a couple years, so we'd imitate his moves during practices.

Other: Didn't get into them when my cousin introduced me to their first album. But I got hooked on their second album. Their third album's first two singles were okay, but I didn't like them enough to seek out the rest of the album. By their 4th album, grunge and alternative had replaced the genre. I don't think I heard any of it.
