SCOTT FERRALL is returning to terrestrial radio with a new version of "FERRALL ON THE BENCH" to air weeknights 10p-2a (ET) on CBS SPORTS RADIO starting JANUARY 2nd on over 50 affiliates. FERRALL hosted his syndicated show for WESTWOOD ONE and SPORTS FAN RADIO NETWORK before his present run hosting a nightly show on SIRIUS XM RADIO's HOWARD 101.

Looks like another hole in the schedule on 101.

Anyone hear the show that started a couple Saturdays ago featuring 2 lawyers that tell crazy stories?

Do they bother to let anyone know there are new shows????

Even when Howard was good and when Bubba was still on 101 I never listened to Ferrel. Evenings is the time I listen to very little radio and when I do, it is in short bursts and i usally flip between music stations.

What in gods name will they replace this with?

I am guessing NOTHING. Tim Sabien has to have the easiest job at Sirius. He manages TWO channels, one of which only plays one show for 24 hours straight. The other is a best of channel NOW with MAYBE one live show per day. Maybe.

And he probably makes about $250,000 per year.

I wonder if they're not telling in order to avoid the haters. "This show sucks! Use the money on Howard! Bring back Bubba!"

Here's the list of new/live/premier shows on Howard 101. This list does not account for repeats or "new shows" which are obviously taped, such as Howard 101 News Week in Review

Monday - Various stuff at 7, Ferrall, Greg Fitz at midnight
Tuesday - Jackie at 7, Ferrall, Riley at midnight
Wednesday - SFRT at 7, Ferrall
Thursday - Jon Hein's TV show at 2, AGT Wrap-Up at 3, Intern at 7, Scott at 8
Friday - Jay at 7, Abe Kanan at 10, GeekTime at 12, Ferrall at 8

Monday 3
Tuesday 3
Wednesday 2
Thursday 4
Friday 4

Obviously, with the AGT finale a few weeks ago, I have no idea what they're airing in that time slot.

The crappy thing is that we need to wait until 7 PM ET (4 PM PT) to catch new content three days per week. Somehow...we have live content on Friday mornings, but I doubt Jay gets a lot of listeners.

One of the things I wish they'd do more with is Master Tape Theatre. Ever since they stopped with the History of Howard Stern specials then moved MTT to Sundays at 8, it's been all but forgotten about. I don't think they've aired a "new" show in a few years.

PS -- They could still increase the quality and quantity of content.

Don't worry, Tim is working around the clock to fill it.

Yea he's there 15 hours a day. He doesn't have time for anything else. The guy works so hard has two assistants. 101 has never been better!!! Lots of projects and initiatives going on. The guy is the best in the business!

If they even bother to fill the time slot it will be someone who will work for free. I kinda doubt they will even bother.

This is the opportunity to get rid of H-101. They hung on for a while after Bubba but now it is for replays and an hour or two of original content a few days a week. Put the hour shows on 100 in the evening and give it to someone else. Maybe Oprah or Dr. Laura can program the content. How about a Jay Leno programmed station? That would be a good way to get back at Howard a little for the lawsuit.

Ferrell might have a tough season anyway if the NHL decides to ditch another season due to lockout..

I'm guessing they could get rid of H101. but wouldn't they keep it just for the advertising revenue the channel generates? And if they do decide to can that channel why would they hold on to Tim Sabean?

Who knows this may free up some cash for more staff. I'd say move Nick and Artie over to H101 8PM-Midnight and bring in a new afternoon show.

I'd listen to the Nick and Artie show. They can be on after Jackie the other hack that couldn't handle a million dollars a year.

Yeah right. Has to be more. He moved from the Philly Burbs to Manhatten for that job.

Then again with the way talks about his staff and their salary's who knows how much Howard is willing to pay the man with the easiest job.
