On the October 15 1988 chart, John Lennon's Jealous Guy debuted at #84. I thought it was odd that someone who died in 1980 would have a hit four years later – but on the January 4 2025 Rock Albums chart, The Classic Christmas Album, a compilation of songs by Elvis Presley, who died in 1977, was number one! Speaking of John and Elvis, look what somebody made:

I like these songs 30+ years later, but I didn't know them back in the 80s. So no surprises indeed.
 
I bought several 12-inch singles in the 1980s. One was Cars With The Boom. L'Trimm was Rachel "Lady Tigra" de Rougemont and Elana "Bunny D" Cager from Coconut Grove, Florida. Saint Wikipedia says they took their name from Trim, a brand of designer jeans – but I can find no evidence that such a brand ever existed. Online news magazine Caribbean American Passport says they "took the name L'Trimm from an experience in which they trimmed hair during a sleepover." Cars With The Boom reached #54 on the Hot 100 and #39 on the R&B chart. The single was 3:30. The 12-inch remix single was only 23 seconds longer. "Boom" indeed.
