They just finished building the first Whole Foods here in town right about the time Amazon bought them.
The store has been sitting empty ever since. The lights are on at night, and film on the windows so you can't see in.
No idea what's going on with it.

I would never shop at Whole Foods, I'm not into organic food and plus the prices are way high. Phoenix has a few Whole Foods and they are only located in the east valley.

These people are fuddy duddies. Who wouldn't want a fun Amazon mystery box? They said they only get 2 packages a week and look at the box, it's not even that big. It would be easy to simply throw in the trash can if they really didn't want it. It would be fun to get random boxes of goodies, totally free, every week. Even if I didn't want any of the stuff it would be fun looking though it in the hopes of finding something cool.
Also, this 'brushing' thing explains a question I had. A few weeks ago I talked about buying a Game Boy Advance emulator from Amazon. I also talked about how buying these Chinese knockoffs are always a toss up as to what you will actually get. It turned out well so I decided to buy another, slightly different one. That one wound up being awful and I returned it. Thing is, it had a bunch of really positive, VERIFIED, reviews. Many were in broken English so it was kinda easy to figure out they weren't genuine but I wondered how they got the verified tag for clearly fake reviews. Now I know. It's actually a smart idea.
Here is the emulator I bought that sucked. Check out the fake reviews. I left one too saying the thing was a waste of time.

I saw this on the news last night and - not surprisingly - I'm on their side. They've gotten 60 of these. Having a bunch of unknown people constantly send stuff to my address is creepy and unwelcome, as is having delivery people coming onto my property all the time.
They need to do a better job of screening people who want stuff delivered to addresses that are different than the billing address. And between the fake "verified" reviews and the crap about "I must disclose that I was sent the item to review as part of a promotion", these all need to go away.

I think I want to have something delivered to an Amazon locker just to see how it works. There is one right by my house at a Whole Foods so it's only slightly less convenient than normal delivery. Trying it out once could be fun.

Amazon's latest perk ... free delivery to your car.
The Seattle company said Tuesday that it has begun delivering packages in 37 cities — including Chicago, Baltimore, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., — to Prime members who own newer General Motors or Volvo vehicles.
Deliveries via the Amazon Key In-Car service are available to Prime members with 2015 year or newer Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac vehicles with GM's OnStar connected-car service, and those with a 2015 or newer Volvo vehicle with an active Volvo On Call account.
Amazon Prime customers need to download the Amazon Key app. From there, they can link their connected car and start their Amazon orders. No additional hardware or devices are required.

Almost sounds like a good idea. But I don't want some stranger getting access to my car. Who knows what they might do or take out of my vehicle.

Had my new watch shipped to an Amazon locker. It's at the Whole Foods by my house. Picking it up from there is less convenient than getting at my door but i think it will be fun to give it a try. Apparently you get a bar code or pin number emailed to you once the item is delivered and that's what you use to open the locker.
