Ok, I now know that the word sort of means (which would have pre-cluded me even wanting to read it). I also was not aware Ingesoll was a "writer". I thought it had something to do with the town Ingersoll, ON. And your article requires a subscription (also not happening). So 3 strikes and I am out. It is a stupid word.

I was able to read the NYT article once. After that, I was locked-out. But I believe 98 subscribes. Anyway, most people will be able to see it once.

But to summarize, "Fempocalypse" is the word he's using for society being forcibly taken over by women.

o anyway, Ingersoll is angry about the increasing occurrence of women in positions of leadership and power. It's all fraudulent. and the poster child for this charade is Meghan Markle. Here's an article about Ingersoll (which you probably can't read either)
I kinda like women in positions of power.......If ya know what I mean....

I'm good with a little Fempocalypse from time to time too.

Two Air Canada pilots were killed on Sunday when their plane hit a fire truck on the runway at LaGuardia Airport. NTSB chairman Jennifer Homendy said today, "ASDE-X [Airport Surface Detection Equipment Model X] did not generate an alert due to the close proximity of the vehicles merging and unmerging near the runway."

"Unmerging"???

And "close proximity" is redundant.

So the object detection system didn't work, because there were too many close objects around. Sounds like a great piece of technology.

And "close proximity" is redundant.
George Carlin used to say that about "Final destination". "All destinations are final".

The fire truck actually did not have a transponder installed. So it was invisible to the system.
Well if that's the case, I believe you. But I still contend that it's stupid technology. The proximity detection system on a car doesn't require that any other objects have to be transmitting something. It's basically radar, it just detects the distance of any solid objects.

From what is released so far the primary culprit is an error by a controller granting 2 vehicles clearance for same runway. The "I messed up" admission on open airwaves by the controler kind of supports this too. The transponder is a secondary system which had it been there could possibly have backed up the first mistake.

If I'm going to Lowe's, the gas station, Kroger, then home,
home is my final destination. Lowe's the gas station, and Kroger are destinations.
If you look at airline travel as an example, you can have as many connections and layovers as you want, but the only destination is the place you're ultimately trying to get to.

Your example doesn't really make anything clear, because each one of those stores is a destination. Home is just the final stop; it's not really a destination at all. The place you started from is (by definition) not a destination.

If I‘m getting off of a plane for a transfer, it’s a destination.
I have a laayover, it’s a destination.
If I start at work, for instance, then go to Lowe’s, Kroger, gas, than home, home is my final destination.

Transfer to what? Another plane? The one that will take you to your destination?

Even Google Maps has it figured out. You punch-in your destination, hit start, and then you can add stops along the way. But it still knows what your destination is.

If I'm flying to Chicago, and need to get off the plane in Denver. Denver is a destination that I need to remember.

Yes. Google does have it figured out. They list multiple destinations in the maps navigation panel.

Denver is only a destination for people staying in Denver. For you, Denver is a connecting airport. Unless you get to Denver, and decide to start a new life, it's not your destination. Chicago is your destination.

When someone asks what city you live in, they don't ask "What destination are you at?" Likewise, in your example, Denver is a city. And it's not the city you're trying to get to. It's not your destination.

Have you been conferring with Memebag?

If I'm not getting off of the plane, I don't care where I am.
If I have to get off the plane, it is one of my destinations because I have to go there.
Have you been conferring with Memebag?
No......Why do you ask?

And then there is this from Merriam Webster:
