No Doubt/Gwen Stefani went from 90s alt rock to holla back girl? WTF is that? Oh and Korn, they went to shit fast after their first record. Papa Roach, Staind, and Disturbed got old pretty quick too. Still can't stand David Drainman in any project he's a part of.

Actually Korn put out 2 more great albums after the first. Life is peachy and take a look in the mirror. Both are hard old school Korn.

Anyone that thinks Avengened is a shitty band has never seen them live and probably not many bands live. They probably didn't listen to the whole Nightmare or Hail to the king albums. You want good hard rock/metal listen to Avenged. Their so great live. Korn still rocks live also.

 same basic formula every other metal band not named Tool follows these days. Nothing different than anything else.

Jon you need to get with some of your boys and go see some of these bands live. Avenged and especially Metallica. Hell ask Siri. I'm sure she'll go out on a date with you. That's a joke by the way.

There are a lot of bands were I don't like their music but I can't call the band shitty. If I see them live and they suck yea. Live music is the way to go. I'm a huge Tool fan seen them 3 times. Avenged is nothing like them.

I'm afraid none of my boys are metal heads. Avenged Sevenfold is the same as five finger death punch, is the same as Korn, is the same as limp bizkit. Not sure why this seems to bug people so much.

Doesn't bug me. Five Finger is way different then Tool, Avenged and Korn. Limp Bizkit is rap metal. Korn, Tool, Five Finger and Avenged don't rap. Maybe you should get some friends that like metal.

You give your opinions on bands you have never seen. You've never really and I mean really listened to them. You've heard a song here and there and judge them. If your not into the music I get that. Its just your opinions mean squat if you have never really listened or seen these bands live.

Kinda like your opinion on Stern. You've never really listened to his show but you formed an opinion. Thank God the world and this board doesn't revolve around you. Even if you think they do.

Lets both go back on ignore.

I've heard every one of these bands, there was no discernible difference between any one of them to my ears. This is the kind of crap that drove me away from metal in the first place. My tastes have changed since I was a teenager.

Howard Stern is another matter. Heard him on Denver radio back when he was still relevant. After a few shows that was all I needed to hear.

But I keep forgetting the fucking hive mind mentality around here. And to think I almost thought for myself, whew, that was close. Thanks "bro."

Gentlemen, this is such a subjective topic. Stick with the "agree to disagree" thing.

For my dollar, there is a big difference between the bands being discussed.
Tool is at the top of the heap by my ranking. Nowhere near the same thing. It's like comparing apples to bulldozers. (Please note: not Apples to Androids.)

That's all I was trying to say. If you really listen to the bands being discussed or see them you know their way different from each other. Music and taste is very subjective. I just don't see how an opinion can be formed without seeing them live or actually putting the albums in and listening to all of it. It's one thing to say "Hey I don't like their music" but to say the band is shitty and lump them all in together? Thats a comp out. My tastes have changed since I was a teen too. I'm not all metal and thats it. I just enjoy watching live rock whenever I can or whenever the wife lets me.

Iron Maiden. (Live After Death)
Scorpions. (World Wide Live)
Journey. (Captured)

All have live albums. Cassettes I used to listen to on my Walkman back in the '80s.

I bought all three live CDs & realized they all sounded like crap.

Then I went back & listened to their studio albums. After high school, Iron Maiden didn't do it for me. The Scorpions sounded horrible. Journey went to crap when Raised on Radio came out.

Please shoot me if I ever have to hear Don't Stop Believin' again.
