Revolution 9, a bizarre sound collage – "Block that kick! Block that kick! Block that dick!" – from the Beatles' 1968 self-titled album popularly known as The White Album, has been recorded by 22 other artists. Three of those versions are instrumentals. Alarm Will Sound, a 20-member chamber orchestra, recorded Revolution 9 for their album Alarm Will Sound Presents Modernists, released April 19, 2016. Here is a live version, performed with only acoustic instruments and human voices:

The Bee Gees sang a medley of five Beatles songs on NBC's The Midnight Special program, August 10 1973. Also on the show were Herman's Hermits, the Hollies, the Searchers, Gerry & The Pacemakers, Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders and Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas. It's a shame they couldn't have gotten any big names.

He has some amazing covers and the ones I love most are of The Beatles and Michael Jackson.

Among the 16 songs on Richie Havens' 1968 double album Richard P. Havens 1983 – the "1983" reflects Havens' fear of the future, a la George Orwell's 1984 – are remakes of Donovan's Wear Your Love Like Heaven, Leonard Cohen's Priests, Bob Dylan's I Pity The Poor Immigrant and four Beatles songs. Let me take you down 'cause we're going to hear Strawberry Fields Forever now:

The cover of the 1965 Beach Boys' Party! says the album was "recorded live." Well, yeah, technically it was – but in a studio, with chatter and clapping dubbed in later. The album incuded three Beatles songs. Carl Wilson and Al Jardine sang lead on Tell Me Why and I Should Have Known Better and Dennis Wilson sang lead on You've Got To Hide Your Love Away.

Petula Clark was the first woman to record a Beatles song. Tu Perds Ton Temps, which loosely means "You're wasting your time" (literally "You're losing your time"), is a French-language version of Please Please Me and appears on her Elle Est Finie EP released April 19 1963 by Disques Vogue. The uncredited background singers are the Breakaways, a female trio.

The Judy Collins Sings Lennon & McCartney album, released July 17 2007, includes 12 Beatles songs. Here is I'll Follow The Sun. The steel guitar player is Larry Campbell, who was a member of Bob Dylan's touring band from 1997 to 2004.

David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash recorded Blackbird on February 11 1969 during sessions for their debut album Crosby, Stills & Nash, released May 29 1969. Blackbird remained unreleased until 1991 when it appeared on the four-disc boxed set CSN. Stills play acoustic guitar.
