Jesus was an architect

This is BY FAR the most sacrilegious/offensive thing you have ever said on this forum.

He was a Jewish carpenter. INRI and all that. A man who worked with his hands. A real, true profession. Not some hoity toity, holier than thou pretend intelect...aka an architect.

You should suspend yourself for a few days for that comment.

;) :roflmao: ;)

Love you Hectic. Also love how I've committed myself to architect bashing for the sole reason of busting your balls.

So fuck me. Judas needed Christ to betray him right?

So we are talking about destiny and all that right?

w/o Judas, Christ wouldn't have been crucified by the Romans and died for our sins (if that's what u believe).

Then we also have to factor in Peter. He played a big role in all this shit. He denied Christ twice. Not cool.

Those last supper bros really needed to get their shit together...fuck man, ur dealing with God at ur table...pull it together.

I mean eating/drinking flesh and blood shoulda been a bit of a heads up.

and to be abundantly clear...my knowledge is incredibly lacking in this regard so pay no mind to me.

This is simply my random ramblings.

A couple corrections.
1. Christ needed Judas to portray him.
This is an interesting theological point. There is a book of Judas (not included in the bible) which basically contends that Judas was Christ's best friend and Christ made him do it. The traditional narrative is that Judas committed suicide later. In this book, the other disciples killed him in retaliation.
2. Peter denied Christ 3 times.
3. You don't really drink blood and flesh. Its bread and wine. A metaphor.

it is a fascinating theological point like you say. He kinda needed Judas. but then you'd think that even w/o him the Romans would have found a way to get him. He was making too much of a noise.

I thought Judas wound up committing suicide like u said...he hung himself right?

"I remember when this whole thing began...no talk of God then, we called you a man."

That is the narrative of the other books says he hung himself. But the current books in the bible were the ones selected in 300ishAD by the Roman Emporor at the time who was making Christianity the official religion of the Empire. The other books have different perspectives on Christianity.

I guess I was taught the Roman Catholic Bible...along w/my mom and pastor's thoughts on it.

The whole manifest destiny thing is really a fun head spinner to ponder.

I mean eating/drinking flesh and blood shoulda been a bit of a heads up.
A conversation between Jesus and God (Eddie Izzard):

”Then l did the Last Supper, gave them some wine, said it was my blood.”
”You said what?”
”’This wine is my blood.’ I was trying to make a ceremony.”
”But that’s vampirism. Vampiric thing, drink my blood, you’ve got pagan things right on day one of the new religion!”
”Oh, sorry.”
”Why didn’t you say, ‘Drink this wine, it’s a Merlot?”’
”Oh, yeah.”
”Did you say anything else?”
”What do you mean?”
”After the wine thing, did you say anything else that might have screwed things up for ever and ever?”
”Nnnno...”
”Nothing at all?”
”Nnnno...”
”Nothing about bread?”
”Yyyyes...”
”What did you say?”
”I said, ‘Eat this bread, it is… my.... favorite.’ Because it was hot and had all the crinkly bits in it and I loved it and… I said it was my body, OK?”
”That’s cannibalism! Vampirism and cannibalism right at the beginning!"

...

”Oh, all right.”
”Well, what would you have done?”
”I would’ve done cheese and wine, they go together better. ’Eat this cheese, it is my body’.”
”But it’s Judea, Dad, cheese melts.”
”All right, ‘eat this cheese, it is my central nervous system’.”
”Oh, God.”
”Listen, eat these chicken drumsticks, they are my legs, eat these carrots, they are my arms, eat this tomato, it is my head and eat these oysters, they are my kneecaps.”
”If you do that, Dad, your communion’s gonna have priests with trays going, ’Who ordered the body of Christ, then?”’

I know that was a bit of a joke but u think that we're talking about really poor people?

like they managed to get a guy who put together a bit of bread and a taste of grape juice and boom...blood and wine.

Then we get into the whole transubstantiation thing. as a Methodist we believe it is a representation of the body and blood. I think Catholics think it is actual flesh and blood.

The Catholic Bible has more verses than the real Bible (speaking as a protestant).

So it's a destiny thing right? Judas had to turn in Jesus to make everything happen.

But us normal humans have free will.

Shit is confusing.

Jesus had to be executed by the Romans to give us the resurrection story. Judas was the vehicle. He had free will. He either was co-erst by his best friend or surcumed to greed and/or was disillusioned by how Jesus was behaving depending on which version you believe but made the free choice to turn him in.

So us who believe in Christianity believe in the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

But they are all the same right? Because we are monotheistic. So God and Jesus...even though he was his son, they are kinda the same thing right?

Also the Holy Ghost is what lives in all of us right?
