Companies That Might Go Out Of Business

That’s rich funny, a guy that put so much effort into canceling other people is complaining about getting canceled. Maybe he should have put more effort into his business than politics.

Yellow Corporation, founded in 1929 as Yellow Transit Freight Lines, had nearly 30,000 employees and owned more than 12,000 trucks. Among their subsidiaries were Reddaway, Roadland Express, New Penn Motor Express, Reimer Express Lines and YRC Freight. Shares of Yellow closed July 28 at 0.71.

That one surprises me, I see their trucks everywhere, and with the high demand for trucking, it seems like they should have been doing well.

Around here, the number of restaurant/bar/function room/game room & bowling alley places has increased. And I think our company still has bowling leagues.

Sebastian Sering Kresge opened the first S.S. Kresge five-and-dime store in 1899 in Memphis. At the time of his death in 1966 at age 99, there were 930 Kresge stores in the United States and Canada. In 1962 the company opened the first Kmart in Garden City. Michigan. Kmart, at its peak in 1994, operated 2,486 stores. The last remaining Kresge store (in Hamilton, Ontario) closed in 1994. In 2023, there are only eight Kmarts still in business – and one of those will close at the end of this month.

I do remember Kresge stores when I was a kid. Regina never had a K-Mart. There was a K-Mart in Toronto ... once. Been gone for years.

I remember the commercials, but never saw one in person.
We didn't shop there when I was a kid, There were a couple of locally owned discount stores we'd go to when we were shopping for that kind of stuff.
Unfortunately, they have all gone away because of the larger chains that are now going out of business.

Can I be happy? When our younger daughter moved out, she got an OkiOki mattress in a box, but it was shipped to my address. And ever since, I've been getting their marketing emails. Maybe that'll stop now.

Don’t count on it.
You‘ll still be getting the same email for the next 12 years.
That is not Oki.
