Even thought I don't care for during the week concerts. I added couple more concerts to my 2023 lineup. My partner and I are going to see Reba and Matchbox Twenty. Tomorrow we see comedy legend Gabriel Iglesias.

I forgot to do a review of Fluffy.

All I can say he was f'ing hilarious. My partner and I were not stop laughing throughout the night. He explained why he preforming in a small venue and not normally at an arena. Basically after telling the same jokes for over 20 years and his TV specials basially show his material. He is starting over at the small clubs and telling new jokes.

Originally my partner had no interest in going to that concert. I guess he not much of a Bryan Adams fan, he prefers Joan Jett. Plus he thinks we have enough concerts we are attending already this year.

But I been partially torching him with some of his music and finally agrees, he will go. Plus he knows, that I missed out and wanted go to the Duran Duran show last year.

  • HYPROV: Improv Under Hypnosis [02/10 Richmond Hill Centre, Richmond Hill, ON] (comedy)

So this show was on Friday. It was quite enjoyable. A really weird concept. The premise that everybody can be good at improv if you remove their biggest critic -- themselves. The voice inside that says 'I can't do this'. So they start with 20 people on the stage (20 people from the audience) and the hypnotist hypnotizes them. It's not much different than the old Revine shows aside from nobody clucking like a chicken. As he progresses he goes up and taps some people and sends them back to the audience. He then has about 10 left. He has them do stuff like 'find their belly button'. It's quite funny -- they all actually believe it is lost. He then whittled it down to 4 people. Then Collin Mocary comes out and they do some sketches taking random suggestions from the audience. Then they have the people act out the parts by suggestion. But the dialogue they come up with is all on their own. And it was quite hilarious and unexpected. I laughed my ass off.

My wife is convinced that the 4 people up there were plants. And the actual audience members were filtered out leaving only the 4 people. They did not allow any photography or videography which my wife says its so when we look at the last venue and see the same guys on stage we would know it was fake. I think it was real. My son thinks that 1 or 2 or maybe 3 were plants. The forth girl did not participate that much. The music director of my church has actually worked with Colin and insists that they are actually random people and this is the concept (he was asking about it after church today).

It was entertaining regardless of which way you look at it.

My 2023 Concerts Lineup
Sat, Feb 1th - Imagine Dragons and Kane Brown

Over the weekend my partner and I saw Imagine Dragons, Kane Brown and opening act new up and coming band Nightly. The concert was suppose to start like at 7pm and it really didn't start until 8:30.

Nightly sounded ok, they are some kind pop indie band.

I'm a big country fan and Kane Brown was enjoyable, even though I only know couple of his songs.

Imagine Dragons were amazing and preformed about two hours. We really enjoyed the concert even though it started like 90 minutes late and ended at midnight.
