This was the first F1 race weekend of the year, and - more notably - the first F1 weekend exclusively provided by Apple TV in the US. In simple terms, I just go to my Amazon Prime TV/Apple TV app, select sports, then select F1; and all the live, upcoming, and replay broadcasts are there.

But it gets a little interesting. There is already an existing streaming service called F1 TV. Last year, when YouTube TV (my live TV provider) was having a dispute with ESPN/ABC, I had to sign-up for F1 TV to watch 2 of the races. But now, it's all under control of Apple TV. So get this: in the US, F1 TV is still available, but in order to sign-in to it, you need an Apple TV account. This is making people confused.

For me, I already had Apple TV, as I've been watching a lot of their content. So it costs me nothing to dial-up Apple TV to watch Formula 1. But here's the odd thing. Every event that's available on Apple TV - such as practice, qualifying, and the race - gives me a choice of 2 versions; the F1 TV version, or the Sky Sports broadcast (which is the official worldwide broadcast of Formula 1, and is based in the UK). The actual on-track coverage is the same, as it comes from a single, world feed. But the crew of commentators covering the events is totally different.

The Sky Sports broadcast is the one that has been running for years, which I'd see on ESPN or one of the networks (like ABC or NBC) in the US. It has the familiar British commentators. The F1 TV version has this rag-tag collection of knowledgeable, but poorly dressed and not so well presented people. On the social media forums, there's widespread confusion about who is providing these feeds, and how to see the desired version. A lot of people think that Apple TV has created the content that is available on their service (they have not), and they are unaware that the Sky Sports broadcast is available on the Apple TV service. There's also confusion among those who still have the F1 TV app, as to how to sign-in to that.

It's compounded by the fact that outside the US, it's a different situation, with different providers. But for me, I'm happy with what's available on Apple TV. I watch all the Sky Sports broadcasts, and it looks exactly like what I'm used to. I can fast-forward through the recorded content, and there are no commercials during any of the racing action. The only difference is that in the past, on ESPN, they would air the Sky Sports coverage a little bit before the racing started. And now, I get the full broadcast, which starts about an hour beforehand, with on-track commentary and interviews.

At first, I thought you meant FS1, then read it again.
Enjoy the new season

Moving from cable to streaming, clear as mud!
Well, TBH, Formula 1 is now exclusively on Apple TV in the US. So it doesn't matter what technology you choose for watching TV. You must subscribe to Apple TV to see F1. For me, that's a streaming app. But I believe there's an Apple TV set-top-box available too. Point is, you can't get it over cable, or OTA.

These Snoopy Jazz videos on You Tube are being made at an alarming rate. About 3 per day. I don't listen to the entire videos but try to show the pictures to my wife. If she doesn't have time, I will take a picture and text it to her.

Is the music for those by Vince Guaraldi?
I got the Happy Anniversary Charlie Brown CD back around 1990 or so. It was a good jazz disk. I used to listen to it all the time.
