I thought we had an implosion thread, but didn’t find it.
They imploded the I75 bridge over the Maureen river early Sunday morning as part of the never ending enterprise of road construction.

I have a project in Cincinnati that I’m going to tomorrow, so I’ll have to see how things look.

So they blow up the bridge before building the replacement? Seems about right for Toledo.

They have been building the new one right beside the old one and doing the lane shift thing for the last couple of years.
They must have it far enough along to move everyone to half of the new side while they work on the other side.

Just like the Tappan Zee Cuomo Bridge. When we went over it last month, my navigation showed me floating over the Hudson river, next to the new bridge. But I guess that's the least of the problems.

I love that building. I'm thrilled that they are saving it. I always thought it would make great condos, but the neighborhood around it is pretty rough. With Ford moving in, that should do a lot for the neighborhood.

I watched a design presentation by one of the architects. They are doing a TON to fix that thing up.

I'm sure you've seen it a dozen times Semi, when you've gone through Detroit. Its right near I75 and stands out.
