Memo to Mirror reporter Hollie Bone – and please, guiys, don't make fun of her name – when you say this mansion has been "decorated to compliment its steep history and beautiful architecture," the word you wanted was "complement," not "compliment."

Maybe they decorated it with new stuff, as a compliment to the old, historical stuff.

It looks like someone ate a dozen gingerbread houses,
then threw them all up.
U think? I think it looks kinda beautiful and rustic.

Like a less fun version of the Wilderness Lodge at Disney.

Btw id love to stay there some day. It's rigt next to animal kingdom and on one side they have the Savanah where you can see giraffes and elephants and cool birds and stuff right from you room window/balcony. Much like the Contemporary tho, if I ever stay at either I doubt I'd spend barely any time in the parks. I'd want to get my money's worth from the view and all the amenities of the resort.

On the first of our five stays at Walt Disney World, Teri and I stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge. She loved giraffes. As soon as we got to our room, I went out on the balcony to look at the savanna and the animals. I shouted, "Teri, come here! Look!" A giraffe was just below the balcony. At that time, animals could come right up to the buildings. Fences have been added since then.

Paul Simon and Edie Brickell bought a mansion for $16,500,000 and sold it for $10,800,000. I call that "5,700,000 Ways To Lose Your Money." Yes, their money was "Slip Slidin' Away."

You mean that I coulda bought Edie Brickell's bathtub?
Damn..... #lostopportunity

It's actually a pleasant looking house. It's over the top with meaningless decoration and fake details.

Going to the Blue Jays game on Monday we were crossing the bridge across the tracks to get to the Roger's Centre (aka Skydome). I saw a plaque. It was the Rod Robbie bridge in honour of "Roderick "Rod" George Robbie the architect of the Skydome. He passed in 2012 and they named a bridge after him. He looks to have quite the impressive resume (for an architect) based on the Wiki below. Until Monday I had never heard of him.

I mean, the building is ugly, but he could have moved instead of jumped.

It was actually the Bed Bath and Beyond CFO that jumped. I guess he was beyond his credit limit.

The company is not doing well. They had just announced several store closings and layoffs. No doubt this played into the mindset at the time.
