Ethics violations, abuse of government property and wasting taxpayer money are reasons to fire someone, but unless he had a lot to do with the negligent security set-up for the day, I'm not sure why he needed to be on site on Jan. 6th.

The fact that both parties want to string him up, says that there's more going on.
 
Geddes was honored with a Topaz award from the American Institute of Architects. I will pause while everyone asks, "What the heck is that?"

Seventeen well-known architects have died in the 2020s. Michael Sorkin, Vittorio Gregotti and Adolfo Natalini died in 2020. Helmut Jahn, Art Gensler, Owen Luder and Paulo Mendes da Rocha died in 2021. Ricardo Bofill, Fernando Campana, Jack Diamond, Diane Haigh, Lucien Kroll, Gyo Obata, Arata Isozaki and Marco Goldschmied died in 2022. Robert Geddes and Balkrishna Doshi died in 2023. Maybe we should have an architect death thread – unless it would creep out Mister Hectic and he would start fearing he could be next.
 
He did some nice work, but he was supposed to be an a-hole.
A friend of mine worked on the Cleveland Museum of Art building that Vinoly designed.
You might recognize it from the Avengers movie.

It looks more like an office or school or something.
Nice but kinda sterile for a home.
At $8m for 10,000 sf, it seems like a steal for a Wright.
 
I love Ando's work, but that's not one of my favorites.
I think that one is probably better to be experienced in person than from eye level.
He has some way of doing concrete, some special blend or something that makes it feel like velvet.
