Have you guys seen this yet? It's fascinating and some parts are kinda nuts. Ol Hopalong at least has passion for his work.

Wow, a lot to unpack there. This must be around the time that Meyer lady showed up no? It's interesting to me after this how the howard tv/news department disappeared without a notice. Radio/tv stations flip programming over night but those folks gave a lot of effort in their work and on air comedy it was sad to see no on air recognition. Unless I'm forgetting. These meetings happen and the show has become more professional to be sure. Sterns interview style was honed before this but they certainly got some bigger guests in after this. And some guests from yesteryear started to disappear as well. Poor whitney cummings, stewart, even greenstein got slammed. I appreciate the organizational upgrades generally and this happens in other fields of business. Watching the howard tv stuff attests to the slovenly look of the compound. I think it was smart to roll the tv show into the app since it finally worked well. I miss the news, and some of the other programming on 101 though. It became an extremely paired down operation on the air. Stern show, rap up and history clips left over pretty much. Things seem more planned out. The bits like hulk or sarah huckabee sanders calling in type stuff is pre-written and the background audio prepared with howard guiding the script breaks the rhythm of the spontaneous nature of the show, but there's plenty of random elements each day that I feel like they're trying harder to prepare bits that mostly go over versus just talking about Ronnie's anal adventures (which has gone too far IMO, all the gay stuff has gone so far afield of the porn star era it deserves its on book)

There's only so much water bottles and red carpets you can lay out though. Especially when a guest comes on right after two staffers get jerked off by another staffer.

IIRC, Howard 100 News was axed because he wanted it to cover stuff that they were doing on the show. Say Bigfoot called in asking for money...they'd investigate why he wanted money, etc.

But it got to the point where they started reporting on Howard off-air. He bought that ring for Beth and the price was reported on.

What I don't miss...the previews. "Let's go to Jon Hein with a preview of the Wrap-Up Show." Really? Talk about the most redundant and unnecessary two minutes of radio.

What I find interesting... they've long-since forgotten about JD's techno music, but they'll play Brent's political campaign song.

And I have zero doubt that the fake callers (Jeff's lump, Robin's cancer) are someone in the back. Where it gets gray are when "Joe from California" calls in.

And yeah, when Howard cleaned up his act, the A-listers really started coming in. Didn't Roseanne Barr come in, or was it Rosie O'Donnell? 2004 Howard would have goofed on The View. Next thing you know, he'll make up with Star Jones and Gabourey Sidibe.

Thoughts:
-At 5 minutes in, he misspells the word "Structure".
-His listener figures are complete bullshit, and his delusions about the importance of his radio show vs TV is sad.
-It's a surprisingly amateurish presentation, full of "corporate-speak".
-Why is he making the entire presentation himself?
-News team - gone!
-He's relying on people like Richard & Sal to fix the channel? Good god!
-Whitney Cummings is not much of a big deal anymore.
-Howard was really late to the party in supporting both Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O'Donnell. Not sure why he thinks otherwise.
-The Eddie Vedder/Pearl Jam plea is pathetic. And BTW, Letterman was such close friends with them that he was asked to induct them into the RRHOF. Howard is just clueless.
-Brad Pitt should come on the show because Richard Christie had a poster? If someone else had posed that to Howard, he'd shit on them for days.
-Apparently, he made this presentation before his self-realization about his past behavior.
-Howard's strategy is to get wack-packers to be talent scouts, publicists, and promoters. Genius.
-The same show that throws baloney at stripper's asses and features shitting and hemorrhoids, should now have a "sophisticated, professional" look.
-The entire atmosphere of the presentation is devoid of humor, levity, or happiness.
-Too bad it didn't cover the end of the presentation, so we could see how well it went over.

He wasn't boasting. It was actually one of the few sane moments of his lecture. He was acknowledging his demographic, and suggesting that his new programming ideas would be a "safe" way to expand their thinking, by spoon-feeding them likable, interesting people who are gay.

Here's an article trashing Howard by someone who obviously hasn't listened since 1995. The writer wonders how Howard got so many top stars this month alone and based it off Howard's schtick from 2006 on back.

It's never good to give any attention to click-bait bogus websites. "monsterchildren.com" is one of those, just like all the other bogus sites that people reference on Facebook. It's written by some kid who knows nothing, trying to make a point or make money. It's full of misinformation and decades-old stories. People need to evaluate the validity of stuff on the internet.
