It's never good to give any attention to click-bait bogus websites. "monsterchildren.com" is one of those, just like all the other bogus sites that people reference on Facebook. It's written by some kid who knows nothing, trying to make a point or make money. It's full of misinformation and decades-old stories. People need to evaluate the validity of stuff on the internet.
All the stuff I read there was true. Everything on the internet is there to "make a point or make money". What part of this article is misinformation?

I'm not making money reviewing a 10-page article, so I won't be going point-to-point. He lists people as being first-time guests, who have done the show many times. He makes it seem as though he's never gotten big-name celebrity interviews before last week. He basically skips over the last 15 years of Stern's career, including AGT. He repeatedly masquerades his opinion as fact or consensus.

The article begins by suggesting that Ellen is unaware of things Stern said 15, 20, 25 years ago; when in fact she's personal friends with Stern, and has done his show several times in recent years. Of course, you know all of this, so I'm not going to continue.

And no, everything on the internet is not all equivalent. The New York Times should be evaluated differently than the guy who posts as monsterchildren.com. It's an obligation we have as a society. Otherwise, we stop vaccinating our kids, and elect bad people.

Of course, I don't know any of that. I don't pay a lot of attention to Howard Stern or Ellen Degeneres.

The stuff I read, about Howard being racist and sexist, was true. And I still think it's good to remember how racist and sexist Howard has been, which is all I said. I hope he's changed.

So now you're a judge of comedy? You think all these racists tuned-in to cheer on Daniel Carver of the KKK, or the God Hates Fags people? All those racists, listening and saying "Right On!". That's what's been going on all these years, and now you've exposed us. Damn.

Go reread your movie reviews, and tell me why I shouldn't think you're a fan of rape, torture, murder, and disparagement of women.

Just being objective, I don’t know how someone can be objective about comedians opinions if they don’t actually listen to their material, or how they could be objective about movies that they don’t actually watch.

It’s one thing to say that you probably wouldn’t like a comedian or movie based on what someone tells you, but it’s another thing to condemn them based on speculation.

Of course I'm a judge of comedy. I don't understand that objection.

I didn't say anything about people tuning in, I said Howard Stern was racist and sexist. I know that because I heard it for myself.

My movie reviews don't rape, torture or murder anyone. They don't disparage women, I hope. Howard Stern, on his radio show, expressed racist and sexist ideas. Is that even up for debate? Are you denying that?

You're treating a comedy act as if it's not comedy. I'm not interested in whether you like it or not. It would be like going to a movie, seeing someone on screen get shot, and calling 911 to report a crime.

But the movies do. I know this from your reviews.

Help me out. Are you saying that Howard is just joking when he makes racist and sexist comments, so the comments don't reflect his own racism and sexism and don't propagate racism and sexism?

Also, the movies I review don't rape or murder anyone. One of the movies I reviewed burned rats. I am not a fan.

Rape and murder are actions. Racism and sexism are world views. "Birth of a Nation" is a racist movie. It was written from a racist perspective and actively spreads that perspective. It has been used to prop up that perspective. I have no problem calling it a racist movie, just like I have no problem saying Howard Stern has been, and may still be, a racist.

Do you find that upsetting?

The point of the post that started this was that the person that wrote the article is criticizing Howard for his current content as if nothing has changed since 1995.
To be fair, your comments are just as disconnected. If you don't pay attention to Howard now, your comments are more subjective than objective.
It's not that your opinion isn't valid, it's just uninformed and difficult to embrace when it's out of context.

I had a different take on the article. It seemed to me the author was just trying to remind people of Howard's past racism and sexism. I think that's worthwhile.

To be fair, I have to agree you made it clear, that you and the author (a girl from Sydney who graduated from college in 2008, but is acting as if she heard his show firsthand in 1992) are referring to things he's said and done a long time ago. The author goes on to commit other sins, but that's a different thing.

Help me out. Are you saying that Howard is just joking when he makes racist and sexist comments, so the comments don't reflect his own racism and sexism and don't propagate racism and sexism?
Yes, exactly.
Also, the movies I review don't rape or murder anyone.
Really? Because I thought you just attended a 3 day marathon of gore and death and the undead and slashing. All joking, by the way. Acting - not real.

So you're telling me that Knives and Skin has no violence? How about Sword of God? Or Tammy and the T-Rex (Gore Cut)? Why Don't You Just Die? Should I continue? Do I need to quote your actual movie descriptions?
Do you find that upsetting?
Why would your confusion upset me?

Yes, exactly.

Then we must disagree about the meaning of racism and sexism. Howard Stern has made racist and sexist jokes. Howard Stern has been racist and sexist. I can't be convinced otherwise.

Really? Because I thought you just attended a 3 day marathon of gore and death and the undead and slashing. All joking, by the way. Acting - not real.

Understood. But saying racist and sexist things is not acting. It's real. When Howard makes fun of how black people look or talk, he isn't depicting racism, he's being racist. Important distinction.

So you're telling me that Knives and Skin has no violence? How about Sword of God? Or Tammy and the T-Rex (Gore Cut)? Why Don't You Just Die? Should I continue? Do I need to quote your actual movie descriptions?

I'm telling you depicting murder or rape doesn't propagate murder or rape. Broadcasting racist and sexist tropes propagates racism and sexism.

Why would your confusion upset me?

I'm not confused. Howard Stern has been racist and sexist. The article contained ample evidence of that. It seems like you don't want people to call out Howard's racist and sexist behavior. I'm curious why that matters to you.

But saying racist and sexist things is not acting. It's real.
This is the crux of your confusion. A comedian acts, just like an actor. If you think that's not the case, that's your problem.

There are some comedians, and people in general, who I feel are racist. I think that Howard is not, based on my lifelong ability to judge people, and observe how they choose to live their actual lives. I feel that he uses race and stereotypes as comedic tools, just like most comedians have, in the history of society. I'd guess that most of his fans feel the same as me, but I'm sure there are some fans who are racist and sexist, and think he's not acting.

You have decided, for some reason, that Howard is not a comedian, and not performing an act. Or perhaps you feel that he is performing an act, but the material he chooses for his comedy is proof that he's a racist. Either way, I can't help you. Think what you want, I don't care. It doesn't affect me, or the millions of fans he has.

Let's make this simple. Do you think Carroll O'Connor was racist and sexist? Every week, he said racist and sexist things as Archie Bunker. According to you, that makes him a racist, because that can't be acting; that's real. Yet nobody ever thought he was a racist. Why is that?

Carroll O'Conner was probably racist and sexist, but I don't base that on a character he played. I base that on the time and place he lived.

But you're misconstruing what I'm saying about Howard Stern. No one else wrote a character for Howard Stern to play on the radio. Howard Stern made up his own words. He said racist and sexist things that he claimed he was thinking. Was he lying? Was it all some giant scam? Possible. But his fans identified with his racism and sexism. He exploited and fueled their racism and sexism for profit.

Archie Bunker was a parody of outdated thinking. He was the butt of the joke. Howard Stern was never that. He was the successful, edgy superstar, the self-deprecating/self-aggrandizing King of all Media.

CBS tried to get Artie and Booey to bail on Howard...also, Howard told Tim Sabean it would be best if they just part ways when Tim's personal life went from a noine to a one....and didn't we all think Tim went to work with Sirius?

Didn't Artie reveal that news on air early in the Sirius run? (maybe not the $$ amount) I seem to remember it while they were discussing the failure of the David Lee Roth on KRock experiment.

Brent Hatley has quit. Given the crap he got over his lifestyle and his wife, I really can't blame him.
