I listened to a new summer mix at the Y today. "Camp Sirius XM" (no channel sponsor)
But it was like a mix of old Hits 1 and old Alt Nation with editing for family. I took a look at the Pre K's playground and art on the walls to keep the mood.

Then at 9:30 we went to the downtown square to watch a light show reflecting off the city hall building so I listened to some of another summer mix:
"Alt Nation Too Cool for Summer" The light show had slides of all themes: 250th America, Back to the Future, King Kong, Sports, Animals. Pretty neat, while I brought my own music from SXM since I couldn't hear the music from the light show.

I've heard many great classic standard artists sing this one

I was excited to hear Laufey's cover of "I Wish You Love" Sunday evening on Siriusly Sinatra on my way to the state park. I started to swell up

Que Reste-T-Il De Nos Amours, written by Charles Trenet and Léo Chauliac, was introduced in 1942 by Roland Gerbeau in the musical revue Rythmes Du Monde at the Cabaret Chantilly in Paris. Gerbeau released the song as a single in 1943. Trenet recorded his own version in 1947.

I Wish You Love, the English-language version with lyrics by Albert Beach, was first recorded in 1956 by Keely Smith and the Nelson Riddle Orchestra as the title track of an album. Paris-born jazz singer Vicky Benet recorded the song, partly in French and partly in English, for her 1959 album Vicky Benet À Paris. A version of I Wish You Love by Harlem-born jazz singer Gloria Lynne got to #24 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #9 on the adult contemporary chart in March 1964.

I had some really nice daytime Coffeehouse Bike rides this week hearing some good Natalie Merchant stuff and all. And biking at sunset listening to the Wine Bar channel but this morning was a cool overcast day with the threat of pending rain so I switched to 60's Gold and heard this neat song for the first time in my life. Not sure if it was before or after the Beatles. Probably after. I would guess the Beatles released it for themselves first. They also announce the location of the Happy Together Concert Tour which I will be going to in the Wisconsin Dells at the end of August. I cannot wait but can wait as I want time and life to slow down. I also had a nice Coffeehouse listen yesterday in line at that nice gal's bakery with all the fantastic treats.

John Lennon wrote You've Got To Hide Your Love Away and the Beatles recorded the song on February 18 1965 at EMI's Abbey Road Studios in London. It was released on the Help! album, August 6 1965. The Silkie's version was recorded August 9 1965 – John produced, Paul played guitar, George played tambourine – and was released as a single on September 10 1965.

Here is a live performance from the Olympia music hall in Paris, April 27 1966. The Silkie were the opening act for French Singer Antoine (Pierre Antoine Muraccioli). Férré Grignard and Les Problèmes also performed.

I like that idea, Madison. And here is some useless trivia for you: Fats Domino had 77 chart hits, 1956-68. Eleven made the top ten. Among them: Blue Monday, Blueberry Hill, Ain't That A Shame and Walking To New Orleans. Domino's final hit was a remake of the Beatles' Lady Madonna. It debuted at #100 on the September 7 1968 Hot 100, remained at #100 the following week – and then dropped off.
