IdRatherBeSkiing's Top 20 (Sunday, June 21st, 2020 version)

While coming home from dinner (will post on this in my world according to... thread) was listening to my son's music on the way home I heard the song "21 Guns" by Green Day. I'll have to admit, I don't hate all of those; most of them, but not all.

When I wasn't annoying my family with countdowns, I occasionally let my son put on some of his music on car stereo. My only rule was no c-rap. The following songs are now in my library and **** rated so included in this list:

Some Nights - Fun.

Sounds of Silence - Disturbed
Quite a haunting remake.

Some Nights - Fun.
An absolutely FANTASTIC song. My #1 song of 2012. Nate Reuss gives me Freddie Mercury-level chills in this song.

01 fun "Some Nights"
02 Ed Sheeran "The A Team"
03 Diablo Swing Orchestra "Exit Strategy Of A Wrecking Ball"
04 Hyro Da Hero "Sleeping Giants"
05 In This Moment "Blood"

Sounds of Silence - Disturbed
I didn't like this one. Kudos for stepping out from metal and trying an almost-Broadway/opera thing, but it didn't work for me at all. I put it on my worst songs of 2015 list, just slightly more tolerable than "Watch Me Whip/Watch Me Nae Nae".

#26 Silento "Watch Me"
#27 Disturbed "The Sound Of Silence"
#28 Heems "Flag Shopping"
#29 5 Seconds Of Summer "Hey Everybody"
#30 Blur "Go Out"

I liked it a lot at first, but the novelty faded a bit over time. I still think that his voice is good and powerful and works very well for that kind of thing though.

I saw this, and went back to check your list of bands with 5 songs you like; and yes, it's there! Some Nights is a great song; it brings back the multi-part harmony thing that had gone away for a while. It's also another one of those songs about touring. They have other good songs, but they're a little too poppy and youth-targeted to make my favorites list. And it's nice that IRBS likes a song from 2012.

I am not familiar with any other Disturbed songs

Also #302 on my list of fav 333 songs of all ever.

Driving home from the baseball game after the 1980 countdown was done, I let my son play his music. This song came on and is now in my library and ****. Reading about it and listening to the lyrics it is a bit sad since he is now dead.
