I mentioned it to my wife and son in a group text with a big "Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!". My wife replied, "Yes, I saw that." Then my son replied, "yeah people have been talking about it." Very nonchalant. As if I had instead said, "We had deer tracks in the lawn again." Like, "Meh, yup." I don't get why they didn't say anything if they already knew?!

I went to Cambridge Sunday to get most of my son's stuff from his dorm and saw the big backup on 93N for the ramp to 95N (to the ocean). I told my wife "a lot of people heading to beach." She said, "Already? Are you sure?"

Mrs. Scotch took her clients' dog to the beach yesterday (for a walk), just because it was too hot inland. Also, it was the last day for dogs on the beach in the daytime in York. And it was high tide, yet the beach was packed with people, lining the top of the beach (the rest of the beach was under water). I guess a lot of people got the same idea.

Police are searching for suspects after multiple people were shot Saturday near a busy community street festival in Toledo, Ohio.
"Many victims" were transported to medical facilities, said police, who didn't provide further details on the injuries or how many people were shot.
Authorities also didn't provide any details about what may have set off the shooting.
City police responded to a report of a person shot near the Old West End Festival at about 5:30 p.m. ET and found multiple shooting victims, the police department said in a statement.

We used to live in that neighborhood. It's a mix of really nice Victorian homes that people put a lot into renovating, and a bunch of sketchy places that people need to renovate. I lived about 2 blocks from where the shooting happened. It's sad that this happened.

I think we're only certain about the former of those two options.
I know a number of people that live in the neighborhood and are active with the festival, and a lot of others that go to it.

I was a tour guide for one of the mansions a number of years ago. It's the former home of Edward Drummond Libbey, He was a pioneer in the glass industry and started Libbey Glass.
