Most streamed 70s albums (according to the BBC)

I'm sure nobody is wondering what was the best-selling album of the 1970s in the USSR, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. It was Magic Fly by Space, an electronic disco band assembled by French producer/keyboardist Didier Marouani. The album was released in April 1977 and sold one and a half million copies in the USSR. Here is the title track, which was #2 on the UK singles chart for three weeks in September 1977. It was kept out of the top spot by Elvis Presley's Way Down. Presley had died in August.

Chicago III is in my core collection. It has "Free", "Lowdown" and "What Else Can I Say". It's a theme album, with some funny stuff, some crazy stuff, and some serious stuff. I guess it's not for everyone, but it's a big part of my childhood.

I agree with the rest of your list, except 10 (or X), which I have, is not that good IMO.

Well I know the group called Chicago 12 "Hot Streets" as a new start with Terry Kath's replacement Donnie Ducas. We were all still in shock and bummed out at the time of his accident. Actually I'm still bummed and watch "The Terry Kath Experience"

I will listen to Chicago 3 on You Tube sometime soon. I think I have the album but nothing to play it with. I do like "Free".
Chicago X has "You Are On My Mind" a semi hit sung by James Pankow. I'm glad he got a chance to lead a song.

Chicago Transit Authority is the original name of the band. When they had to change it, they went to Chicago for their next album. It's known as Chicago II, but it's just called Chicago. Likewise, Chicago at Carnegie Hall is their live album, and it's alternatively referred to as Chicago IV. Chicago IX is also titled Chicago's Greatest Hits.

Their 12th release, Hot Streets, is the first regular release where they decided not to use a number. But it's still referenced as 12. For the next one, they went with Arabic 13. And from there on, they mostly used Arabic numbers.
