I used to see a lot of 5 speaker, AM/FM, CD, XM units.

I never understood why XM included the competition in their units. Why give the customer the opportunity to check something else out? :clueless: .... I can see one of those being used when local AM/FM jocks would promote their XM show later that day, but other than that??

This was my original radio, but I killed it long ago while trying to fix a broken LCD display. :(

It was the size of a portable CD player and generated a lot of heat.

Sony used to make a Sirius radio way back in the day with a cooling fan. Anybody ever see/own one of those?

There's a Kenwood KTC-SR902 still playing in my daughter's car. I remember installing that in January 2004.

The good ol Kenwood H2A, it was Sirius coolest/best radio for about a 2 years, never owned one, but, yea to echo your comments, the thing was a giant heat sink on your dash..

As I remember it a lot of the 1st and 2nd gen radios were pretty warm when running. I remember there being concerns that the heat would adversely affect the LCD displays - like some units would get hot enough to where the LCD display would just fade out.
