Release Robin's Bra
I know most of these mean nothing are are every bit as legit as those Teen Beat magazine tests that tell middle school girls what kind of guy they're into.

I still dig them.

I probably find myself taking at least one a month that's supposed to tell me something or other about myself, haha.

Today I took the autism test. Apparently if you score 65 or higher you qualify as having a caught a bit of the Tis. The higher the score the more infected you are.

The multiple choice answers are the same for every question and are really cut and dry. There's no "sometimes" option so I assumed I was going to get a higher Tis score but apparently I'm only a 44.

Think any of you can get a lower score? Post your results!

Edfward Ross Ritvo (1930-2020) was one of the psychiatrists who wrote the original definition of autism for the 1952 Diagnostic & Statistic Manual of Mental Disorders. That manual, which classified homosexuality as a "sexual deviation" within the larger "sociopathic personality disturbance," has been updated in 1968, 1980, 1994, 2013 and 2022. RAADS-R is Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale, Revised, a self-diagnostic questionnaire used to identify autism.

Asperger's syndrome was identified by Austrian pediatrician Hans Asperger in 1944 and introduced as a formal diagnosis in the 1994 DSM. In the 2013 DSM, it was merged into Autism Spectrum Disorder. As a child and teenager, I had no friends and did not date or socialize or go to parties. When I was 17, dear old Dad decided I was anti-social and should start seeing a psychologist/therapist at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena. He – the psychologist, not my dad – diagnosed me with Asperger's syndrome. My parents didn't try to change me. Maybe they knew they wouldn't be able to. I don't know if I want to answer the RAADS-R questions. I'm sure my score would be low.

One question, Koop: What kid of middle-school girls do you prefer? :p

I never do. Guess some people do, some don't.

I looked at the first question, and saw it's a subjective test where you're evaluating yourself. IMO, that's bullshit, because you can't be reliably objective. You don't even know if your perspective is what others see. So, no thanks.

This explains why you've never seen The Wizard of Oz. :D

But in all seriousness, a nephew of mine (brother's kid) was diagnosed at 3 (although they didn't tell anyone). But because my sister-in-law was a Jehovah's Witness, she didn't believe in doctors or medical intervention. So he pretty-much had a similar childhood to yours.

I misspoke. I said if I answered the RAADS-R questions. "I'm sure my score would be low." If a high score – not a low score – indicates autism, then my score would be high. I remember answering a lot of written yes-no questions for the psychologist/therapist. Many of the questions appeared twice (but not consecutively), just worded differently, such as "I am afraid of spiders" and "Spiders scare me" and "I make friends easily" and "It is easy for me to make friends."

That's either meant to identify random/inconsistent responses, or it's a stupid test.

I figure the reason several questions appear with different wording is so whoever analyzes the results can tell if somebody just quickly rushed through the questions without actually reading them: "Yes-no-no-no-yes-yes-no-yes-no-no-no-no-yes-no. All done!"

I like this youtube guy named Asmongold who does like videogame/political/pop culture content. He took that test on a video I watched yesterday which is why I made the thread.

I know they're all pretty dumb. Now that I think about it I take the Slate weekly news quiz somewhat regularly. Whenever I remember it I usually go right to it cause it's fun to me.

I didn't do great this week:

Well, this one is definitely aimed at people other than me. Especially since I can't watch any live TV right now.
