A big part of why we love them so much is because we know they will go before us.
One time I was talking to our neighbor (the doctor) about the Sorresto collar for dogs. It keeps them free of ticks. And I joked that it works so well, why don't they make it for people? And her response was basically that the collar was slowly killing the dogs, but because of their short lifespan, it doesn't really matter. An interesting concept to ponder.

Oh shit that is interesting. They can get a shot for it today right? Like a preventative one? I think we got that for my pup Kyra way back in the day.

But they don't have a preventative shot for humans for I guess exactly what your Dr friend was talking about.

Also I wonder if it makes a difference with breeds. Like a Chihuahuas live the longest and big Sheppard dogs live the least. But I guess even like 15 or so years isn't enough for it to really matter with those collars or shots.

her response

HAHAHAHA!!!!! I just noticed this now. That was a funny joke Scotch. HER RESPONSE????!!!! You gave away the joke there when you implied a lady could be the doctor. I thought you were being serious for a second there.

I almost fell for it. Well done.

No.

That's why they wear the collar.

I'm not trying to argue but I knew Kyra got a Lyme's shot back when I was still in Philly.

According to this we are both right. They can get the shot but should also use other methods.

We lived in the woods so I knew Krya go that shot.

Love the new Avatar.

I see the two greatest dogs that ever existed in the history of dogs. Penny and Tali, obviously.

But who are those other two mutts? I don't like them mixing with high society pups like Talia and Penny. It makes me feel uncomfortable.

Also, seeing Tali reminded me of this and it made me giggle. Cuz it's absolutely hilarious and I love it so much.

You had to bring this up. I got stuck having to drop her off here, just an hour ago.

I hope that's like a weekly thing.

She gets groomed every 6 weeks. In the picture, she had just gotten groomed, because they put the bandana on her.

The black shitz-poo is the main client's dog. He spends a good percentage of his time with us. The white one is a larger poodle mix. We were boarding that dog for a few days.

I don't know why you're talking about gross, lesser animals. I used a little pixel 10 magic to show what I see every time I look at that picture/avatar of yours:

The robots are taking over the world!

I was at a Mud Hens game yesterday and they had updated one of the food service lines to be fully automated. No robots, but all AI scanners.
You enter a gated area by scanning your credit card to get in. Once inside, along with the 20 or 30 other people selecting snacks, beverages, hot dogs and other prepared foods, you just walk out with your selections and it charges you. The thing scans you the whole time, registers what you've picked up, put back, and what you leave with.

The whole thing freaks me out. I went to the stands with real people working the counters.
