We had something similar happen when I was a kid. A train derailment caught fire under the bridge of one of our major highways. The bridge melted into the blaze and a motorcyclist that was stuck in the traffic went down with it, along with a few other cars. I was 8 at the time so naturally I thought the world was ending.

Who hasn't dreamed of converting a semi into a residence? Well, other than this retired couple from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, nobody It took them five years and $180,000.

I like those videos where they turn shipping containers into homes... It's not that far removed. They're entertaining videos.

I watched this thing all the way through. It's kind of neat. Also, they're kind of weirdo hippies but we can put that aside for the entertainment of the video...and the gf is cute....always helps with video retention.

It turns out that shipping container homes usually aren't as sustainable (eco-friendly) as people think.
It was a nice idea, but it turns out that just recycling the old metal containers is better for the environment.

By the time you insulate them enough and do all of the finishes and whatnot, they usually aren't saving you money either.

I don't remember all of the specifics from the article I read, but at least the gf is cute.
