John Fred Gourrier wrote Judy In Disguise With Glasses after hearing Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and mis-hearing it as "Lucy in disguise." The song was number one for two weeks in January 1968. The Rutles – formed in Rutland County, England – included a Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds parody on Good Times Roll, a track on their 1967 Sgt. Rutter's Only Darts Club Band album. (Don't look for the album – it isn't real.)

You Turn Me On, I'm A Radio peaked at #20 on the January 27 1973 Cash Box Top 100 and reached #25 on the February 3 1973 Billboard Hot 100. Country singer Gail Davies, whose hits include Blue Heartache, It's A Lovely Lovely World and Someone Is Looking For Someone Like You, recorded the Joni Mitchell song for her February 1982 Givin' Herself Away album. Gail also sings background vocals, along with Jeff Tassin.

I heard this one at 9am on that Coffee channel. A live version of 10000 Maniacs "What's The Matter Here" from the "In My Tribe" album. I think I found the correct one that was played this morning. I did not realize how much Natalie Merchant can look like Parker Posey. Leigh Nash formerly of Sixpence None The Richer has taken as lead for 10000 Maniacs these days. I learned that on the Lisa Loeb Where Are Thet Now Show

It was rainy on and off today so I listened to 60's Gold

Heard this hit from Ronnie Dyson prior to "One Man Band" fame. I always hear something good and rare on 60's Gold. I also listened to the Xtra channel "60's/70's" for the first time. I think it is one song 60's then one song 70's

Dyson released 25 singles between 1969 and 1983 and had only five chart hits. Two made the top 40: Why Can't I Touch You reached #8 on the August 29 1970 Hot 100 and One Man Band (Plays All Alone) peaked at #28 on the April 28 1973 Hot 100. Dyson released a cover of Jesus Is Just Alright in June 1972. The song was written by Art Reynolds and was first recorded in 1966 by the Art Reynolds Singers. The Byrds had a minor hit with the song in February 1970. A version by the Doobie Brothers would reach #35 in February 1973.
