The Merriam-Webster Dictionary says "poutine" likely comes from a Québécois slang word meaning "mess." It may also come from "pudding" or "potato." Nobody knows for certain. Is it good? I would say no – but I'm not a Québécois. It's an acquired taste, eh? I do know that the people of Québéc get upset if someone calls poutine a Canadian dish, eh?

You all know I never miss an opportunity to post a Phish tune:

Quick story: my mom's friend from college wound up living on my street when I was a kid. They later moved like 30 miles away to a more rural area and bought a bed and breakfast. It was a really nice plot of land and they had wild raspberries or maybe they were blackberries that we could pick when we visited. Anyway, the place also had an active outhouse. Just like the pics posted above. This was like in 1999 and only about 40 miles away from Center City Philly. It was nuts. Just a giant hole in the the ground with that shit shack on top of it.

I just used a vending machine that accepts large bills, and gives change in dollar coins. They're gold coins, with the Statue of Liberty on back, and the front has different presidents. I got Abe Lincoln and William Henry Harrison.

Somehow, I've been totally out of the loop on these coins. I didn't know they existed, or anything about them. I know a lot more about bitcoin than these. How can that be?

The Trump coin may not be real.

Stamp vending machines at post offices are not equipped to give paper money as change. They use dollar coins. If you want to start a collection, put in a $20 bill and buy a book of stamps and you'll get eight of those dollar coins (plus 40 cents) in change.
