There's a kid at my place...he seems to be around 16-20, who practices his skateboarding moves every night around this time (5pm or so) in our parking lot and I kinda admire him. He tries to olly and kickflip and whatever other terms I'm not familiar with but he sticks with it and does it over and over again. Props to him. Cool stuff.

One of my favorite oldies stations is "Jukebox 1240" KJAA in Globe, Arizona. In addition to the hits, they play thousands of obscure songs from the 1950s-60s-70s. I just heard George Benson's first single, She Makes Me Mad (Groove #0024, released in June 1954). He wrote it and recorded it when he was not quite 11 years old. Here it is. He sounds like a little kid! Oh, wait.......
I've been watching Comedian in Cars, and Jerry was talking to someone about the next generation. He said that he thinks that we're in good hands when the skater kids get older. It was pretty much your observation, but he said that they have dedication and perseverance and will be OK when they apply it to life later on. Interesting thought.

Michael Jackson did not invent the moonwalk. Tap dancer Bill Bailey, brother of singer Pearl Bailey, performed it in the 1943 movie Cabin In The Sky. Here is a video of him doing the moonwalk – he called it a "backslide" – in 1955 at the Apollo Theater. Yowzah!
