The Space Thread

They know something......
They know that our time on earth is coming to an end very soon, and they can afford to find other places that they can live.
Bill Maher joked about this on his Friday show, saying that all of these super smart guys are trying their best to get the hell off Earth.

I'm watching For All Mankind on apple plus. It's a cool alternative history we're the Russians got to the moon before us.

Makes me think tho. I really have no idea how spaceships work. I've said this b4 but giant gas tanks launch them out of this world then somehow they figure out a way to get back and their little capsules are equipt enough to not freaking burn to shit on reentry. Then they depend on a bunch of parachutes and the navy to go pick them up out of the ocean.

I don't think I'm dumb, maybe some of u (non architects) around here are smarter than I but like compared to average ppl on the street I can hold my own. Yet that is basically the extent of my knowledge of space travel.

Also they did this in the freakin 60s and 70s....a typewriter or an IBM that took up a whole room was like their pinnacle of tech.

If you get a chance to see this series its fantastic. Answers all your questions.

Made by the same guys who made Apollo 13 film. The chip on your phone (last year's model even) had more memory and power than the ones they used on the spaceships.

Yea I saw that years ago. Its a tom hanks produced thing right? But he doesn't act in it.

It's gotta be on max. I'll rewatch after for all mankind if I didn't get enough of my moon fix

There's a thread for that

Awww. Thanks man. It means a lot that you consider me to be smarted than the average person on the street.

As for space travel.
One word....

Magnets.

Good call. That's gotta be it. Also gravity and thermodynamics.

That second word I think means like heat and temperature or something.

See...I can sound smart. It's a wonder why the JPL hasn't already recruited me. :roflmao:

Now that moon landing is fake. It was all done in a movie set. :p

I been watching For All Mankind since day 1. I really like the show, wait till you get to season 2. It's basically a war on the moon.

I'm currently enjoying season 3, which takes place in the 90's and they are now on Mars.
