"Mayday! Mayday! We are going to crash into the ground!" Those chilling words are reminiscent of the last words of Jane Dornacker, who, on October 22, 1986, was giving a traffic report during Joey Reynolds' afternoon show on WNBC in New York: "Hit the water! Hit the water! Hit the water!" The helicopter crashed into the Hudson River and sank. Dornacker was knocked unconscious and died en route to a hospital. The pilot was severely injured but survived.
