It was a Monday so I was probably just back from a weekend trip to WV to meet my then fiance soon to be wife. I have no specific memories for that day and my iPhone calendar is empty. It inhereted stuff from my Palm Pilot but somewhere over the years, Apple dumped the old data. I would have been working as a contractor for the same company I work for now as an employee.

What's your best recollection from around that day?

I would remember living in Houston attending a community college. In fancy words the field was computer technology aka building computers and trying become an information technologist. Which didn't lead anywhere, but I did learned how to build my own custom PC's back then.

I picked this date out of the five because I had an idea of what I wanted to talk about but turns out that didn't happen till September 2000.... So it will wait for another day.

The closest thing I can remember to this day is December 10th, 1999. That's the first time I saw Phish live.

They sold out The Spectrum where the Sixers used to play. It was before I was super into them. We were on Gordon's side up on like the 100 level.

I clearly remember how Gotta Jibboo blew me away. Before the show I maybe had one live Phish album. So I knew what they could do live but I never heard Jibboo live and it was amazing.

Holy shit bro. Well done! I've never fielded a roster with more than one active player at a time. You, on the other hand apparently had enough of an active roster to fill out the linebacker core of a 4-3 defense.
The girl in upstate NY was someone I met when my college buddy and I spent a week in Lake George. She invited me up for the weekend, but when the time came, she had the flu. So I spent all my time with her brother and his girlfriend. I actually did a night on the town in Albany with just the brother's girlfriend.

The girl in Queens was someone I met at a college party. It just so happened that it all lined up. And back home, I had other things going on, because the ex and I were on a break.

For Feb 7, 2000, the interesting thing was that I was working with 3 Greek engineers who were spending a year with us in Massachusetts. George was my age, and he had 7 kids. Thanos was the youngest engineer. And Harry (Charalampos) was in the middle. He flipped out when he heard I was from NJ. He loved Bon Jovi and Springsteen. And he dressed a little like Elvis Presley. I learned a lot from them.

Feb of 2000 I was a few years into my first good job after college.

It would have been right around my 3rd beach party. (I'd crank the heat in the house up to 80, put 500 pounds of sand in the basement with a volleyball net and a plastic kiddy pool. I'd put Annette Funicello beach movies on the VCR, surf music on the stereo, and grill crab-legs and hotdogs. I'd rent palm trees and other tropical crap. Tee parties were epic.

2000 would have been the first one of those with with the current Mrs.

That sounds really cool. In the late '80s, we had 2 annual Octoberfests at our house. And for each one, we home-brewed 3 varieties of ales.

Btw, when you say "current Mrs.", does that mean there was a previous Mrs?

Did you ever get a second shot?

Look at you closing the deal with a random party chick. Again, well done.
The visit with flu girl was a one time thing. The fact that she invited me to hang out with her brother and his girlfriend was an indication that she wanted to see me, but that it wasn't serious. And the Queens girl was one date. Not a lot of chemistry.

The funny thing was that the upstate girl told me she went to NYC once, and had an anxiety attack. And the Queens girl thought that New Jersey was mostly farmland.

They were pretty crazy. It would be 30 degrees outside and over 80 inside.
People everywhere, absolutely stupid, and still the parties that everyone raves about.

No. Mrs. Hectic has been with me since 99. I often have to remind myself that it's a miracle that I haven't screwed things up.

I was 5 on this date. I have no specific memories.

This was around the time I started remembering the Disney trips my mom forced my dad to go on a couple times per year.

I think I was under 5 in this picture (one of my favorite pics with my dad) but 1989 was about when I started remembering doing this shit with my mom and dad and pretty clearly it left a good impression because look at me, I'm a 41-year-old Disney freak.

Mrs. Hectic has been with me since 99.

I decided it would be a good idea to record my dad telling me all about his 4 years in the Japanese concentration camp and I'm really happy I have those saved.

Some of the stories he told were truly horrific and it's shocking he was able to just get over it and view it as a time in his life that sucked but once it was over there was no point to linger on the bad memories.

Yet I am 100% positive whatever my father went through in a literal starvation camp must pale in comparison to what poor Mrs Hectic must have gone through and is currently going through after making that one life changing horrible decision to say "yes" when a poor man's Mike Brady got on one knee and popped the question.

I'm glad everyone likes this concept! I had a lot of reading to do.

It was some sort of high point for me. I wasn't the type of guy to have high points.
High five bro! I had my short-lived high point too. It'll come up as the dates get generated.
I was also seeing a girl in upstate NY
Back in high school, whenever someone said they had a girlfriend that didn't go to our school, the mandatory response was "yeah, and I have a girlfriend in the Niagra Falls area." I think it came from a movie? And translation is "we don't believe you."
But you're the expert.
I AM???

it gave me 5 days
There's a spot where you can change it to one.

I was 4 months into my new job (the one I still have). History: I took a web design class at a local college. The teacher asked for a volunteer to redo the local Red Cross website. I offered. I met a member of the board of the local Red Cross and he offered me an IT Director job. I declined but referred my friend, who they hired. 6 months later they were looking for a web guy and my friend recommended me.

I was in my second band ever, named...... Sadchild! It was my cousin singing and my roommate on guitar, I was drums. It was growly metal kinda like Korn-meets-Pantera-ish. We were amateurs. But we had fun. Until it got tense between my cousin and roommate.

I think it was around this time the big tech stock market crash was about to happen. I moved my 401K from aggressive to conservative and avoided losing a ton of money. I switched it back once I saw it starting to recover.

I would be a week away from my second Valentines day as a married man. My wife and I lived in an apartment on the Manchester/Hooksett line. It was a pretty nice area. It was probably around this time we started talking about moving into the house my mother and step-farther still owned here in NH (they were in Cali) and buying it (they were renting it out). We moved in in October and bought it a year later.

And I was probably still laughing about the Y2K panic that was all about nothing.

March 8th, 1989.
It was around this time I applied for a job at the Shaws in Concord NH and got it. Worked there for a year and a half. Since we'd moved from MA to NH recently, I would often drive to MA and hang with my high school buddies ("Sex is great, fuck your mate, we're the class of 88!") One of those friends runs the VJ Big 40 guessing game. Not a lot of memorable events from this time period. I had fun but it was nothing to write a news story about. Things didn't get interesting for me until spring 1990.

Six years old and in First Grade, I was known to have a college reading level by that point

You were 6 and reading on a 20 year old level? No shit? That's impressive.

But I got you beat.

I had both the Leonardo and Donatello Ninja Turtle action figures and I'd physically smash them into my Bebop and Rocksteady action figures. If the Turtles won they would then get the chance to face off against my Shredder action figure.

So while you were reading War and Peace I was saving the world from the evil Foot Clan.

You're welcome.
