Woody Guthrie wrote Dusty Old Dust (So Long, It's Been Good To Know Yuh) to commemorate the April 14 1935 "Black Sunday" dust storm that devastated much of Oklahoma. He recorded the song on April 26 1940 and it appeared three months later on the album Dust Bowl Ballads, Vol. 2. (Volume 1 and Volume 2 each contained three 78-rpm records.) A version by the Weavers, as So Long (It's Been Good To Know Yuh), peaked at #6 on Billboard's March 3 1951 Best Selling Pop Singles chart.
