The Eaton Canyon fire is not far from me and the sky here was thick with smoke for three days but today is much clearer. Here is the latest update from Cal Fire:

The Palisades fire has now burned 23, 654 acres (37 square miles) and destroyed more than 3,000 structures and is moving eastward, threatening Brentwood and Encino. It is 11% contained. The Eaton fire has burned more than 14,000 acres (22 square miles) and destroyed more than 7,000 structures and is 15% contained.

The Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, facing hundreds of lawsuits filed by people whose homes were destroyed by last month's fire in Pacific Palisades, has approved a three-year, $10,000,000 contract with a law firm that will investigate claims and defend the DWP. The partners in the law firm will charge up to $1,975 per hour and their associates will charge $745 to $1,180 per hour. I want a job with that law firm!

Farinacci pled guilty to manslaughter in 2012 after he killed his father in a fight in 2010, Fox News reported at the time.
He was initially charged with first-degree murder in the case before having the charge dismissed, KHQ reported.
If that douche didn't have his charge reduced he would likely be in prison right now and would not have been able to cause all this harm to so many. I don't care what actually happened with his dad.......what we know for sure is he got in a physical fight with his dad as an adult that left his dad dead. So fuck him if he gets overcharged. If you put yourself in that situation you take the risk to being charged for a harsher penalty. Have any of you been in physical fights with your dad as an adult? I know I never was.
Anyway fuck him and way to go that witness. Hopefully this time he will be put away forever like the caged dog he deserves to be and will no longer be able to wreak havoc on the rest of us who generally try to contribute to society.

My sister had to evaculate their summer home in Kelona, BC as a wildfire approached. Mandatory evacuation. They are heading back to Calgary, AB (their winter home).
