I have my lynx but I might sell it soon. works and looks great.

My guess is sirius could make a paid android/ios app which accessed satellite via a dock or adapter, but also had all the internet features like the lynx. Since the lynx is just running android, it wouldnt be hard to just port this to an app and siriusxm ends up saving money by not having to manufacture radios, and smartphones already have a huge install base.

Just got my lynx today from tss radio. It's pretty nice. Much better than my old Audiovox PNP3 that I transferred my lifetime from! :p

Only thing I need to determine is whether I'm going to pay to upgrade my lifetime to get all of the sirius channels I no longer receive. I'm just not sure it's worth it. I rarely listen to Stern anymore, but the prospect of not having any option to do so again isn't appealing either.

It's also a bummer that the newer radios don't run on 12V anymore. I will have to rewire one of my cars for this radio since I was able to just tap into the 12V wiring straight to my old radio. I'll have to run it through the plug now to convert it down to 5V. That's what I get for waiting 8 years to upgrade my radio.

I actually was able to go to Best Buy and buy a new one there. They are giving away a free home dock with the device for $149. Did it cost $75 to transfer your lifetime?

Yeah, $75 to transfer lifetime and my Internet radio transferred with it with no issues. Username and password stayed the same.

Given how awful Sirius support used to be, I have to say I was impressed with my call today. No wait to speak with someone and they did exactly what I needed quickly. And what I had them do was probably more complex than they usually do since I had them transfer a lifetime sub from a Sirius radio to an xm radio and move that radio to an existing xm account. I even got a credit on my wife's xm fee because hers used to be the primary radio and had a higher fee but now my lynx is primary.

never bought anything from the xmfanstore,so i assume they are fine
but no need to rip on other sirius dealers.

someone posted this...

they weren't ripping them.....They were just wondering why TSS is telling customers that the Lynx is one of the models that have been discontinued this year without a replacement.....they even said you should pick one up now because in a few months their value would go up....They weren't questioning whether or not they are good with their customers or legit....but it is weird that they are the only ones saying that the Lynx is discontinued.....Crutchfield is sold out but they're getting in another shipment in a couple of weeks....I'm sure Ryan has them in stock now....Best Buy has them and is constantly getting them in shipments......so why is everyone constantly getting shipments if they're discontinued and a better question is why is TSS the ONLY company to know this "fact" about them being discontinued? Nonetheless they were just asking questions....I'm curious as well....Why lie? Or if you got the info from a source why didn't you double check the news? As another poster said its troubling if they don't know about the products that they're carrying.....

so then i put a link to tss radio deal that i got because it is back in stock
and they deleted my account!

Of course they did. They're trying to sell the same radio in their store for $83 more for the radio, car, and home kit. That must be the last store to still be selling the kits for $49.99.

I feel bad I haven't checked in on here in a bit. Also got a few banners to change.

Nonetheless. A couple things. I know the Lynx and Portables are done from people in the company. A Crutchfield approaches this a bit different than us. In a way they are more professional about not commenting about this stuff as much as us. One thing that TSS has always been excellent on is being almost brutally honest about the products. PEOPLE WANT to know when something is going away. PEOPLE WANT to know if something is a good product or not. We don't sugar coat this stuff.

There is one last batch of Lynx' that was produced. They don't plan on making any more. Would it be great if that changed? Of course. But that's what the situation is right now. The Lynx is one of the best radios SiriusXM put out there. BUT it also costs the company more money than it sells for. The writing was on the wall when they lowered the price of the kits to $19.99. When the MSRP of JUST the antenna costs $29.99 at Best Buy that should fill you in on what's going on with them. They are blowing them out. We actually put the kits back up to $24.99 for the time being. Anyone from here who wants them @ $19.99 is welcome to ask for that price. That said in a matter of months I can assure you when the kits are pretty much sold out you will see them on Amazon and Ebay for $50 plus. So if you want to make some side cash just stock up on them now and hold onto them to ebay later.

So that's the honest truth.

I've been stocking up on some old XM Commander MT radios. Even there, though, I sort of figure I have more radios than the future calls for.

I figure:
- My Sirius radio will be fine in my car for a good number of years to come (SCC1)
- Whenever they say, "Ok - No more Sirius!" then I've got a few XM radios to rely on, by then, though, I bet I'm just streaming everything (SiriusXM, Pandora, etc.). I bet that 2 or 3 cars out that I'm not screwing with radios.
