I can't believe we don't already have a thread.

We saw our second of 2 Leaf games tonight. They lost to San Jose in OT. They were completely outplayed but the Leaf goalie was outstanding. He is actually the starter for the Marlies but both Stolaris and Woll are currently injured so the Leaf goalie tandem is the Marlie tandem. The Marlies have some unknowns and it is challenging wathing them now.

This is also a Winter Olympic year. All of February is off for the Olympics. It remains to be seen if there will be one. Italy is quite far behind in their ice construction. Lot's of posturing by the NHL and NHLPA these days.

I've been able to catch some of the Wild games on HBO Max

Not NHL but Friday night, we went to the Milwaukee Admirals AHL game with the Badger Hockey Band as guests. My program had the opponent as the San Jose Sharks but it was supposed to be the Barracudas. They had the NHL affiliate and actual team name in reverse. My wife got a zamboni ride in the 2nd intermission. It was nice to see the band in the post game too.

Also Not NHL but I will be going the Big10 Hockey Tournament quarterfinal game this Wednesday for my March Madness participation. The Badgers will be the home team against Ohio State. The game is single elimination. I will be going early for the band pre-game show.

My 39 year old daughter wants a zambonie ride. But the Marlies (AHL) only do it for kids.

My Fly Guys had a pretty sweet shootout win last night.

We haven't made the postseason in forever and we have been close the past 2 years so here's to hoping this is the year!

I got ESPN+ to watch my boys and I catch like one or two games a week these days.

I'm having a fun Sunday of Philly sports. Flyers are as close to the playoffs as they've been in a very long time so I'm enjoying these games quite a bit.

The Flyers have not made the playoffs since 2020. After the disastrous end in the wild card round to end the Birds season I decided to buy ESPN+ because I figured the Flyers suck but hockey is my second favorite sports so it'll be fun to watch some Flyers. It has been lots of fun watching them I've watched almost every game since right before the Olympics.

I'm a hat guy. As you can see here I have 15 Eagles hats and 1 Phillies hat:

Then the Olympic break happens and when they get back the Flyers all of a sudden decide to be awesome and we've got this 19-year-old kid who's amazing and our goalie who's a first time starter is being fucking amazing so holy shit. Right now we are third in our division and well it's so close we technically have to win both of our last two games to guarantee a spot but most likely we only have to win one.

Anyway it was time to add to the hat collection and this is a cool one. I like the orange:

The two teams I normally support did not even make the playoffs. Islanders and Maple Leafs. Think I’ll root for the Sabres to finally win the cup.

The Marlies are in the AHL playoffs. As season ticket holders we get free tickets to all home games until after the divisional round. Today is game 3 at hme of the first round (a best of 3) against Rochester. Winner moves on. The Marlies won game 1 5-0 on Wednesday. They lost in Rochester 4-0 on Friday. If we win we face Laval next round.

FLYERS IN THE SECOND ROUND????????????????????????????

Getting anywhere near the postseason would have been considered a win going into this season.

It's so nice to remember how hockey can be fun!
