The Marlies lost tonight. Some pretty poor refereeing. Marlies still up 2-1 but this will cost me $20 as now game 5 on Friday will be played. Marlies can still clinch at home if they win both game 4 and 5.

I made it just in time for Stanley Cup Hockey, Hurricanes goal. I was lifting and saw on the tv that the game was going to start in 35 minutes. Finished up took a quick ride and now glued to game 1. Ric Flair does Woo! for Carolina goal.

The Golden Knights weathered an early storm and pulled off a thrilling 5–4 comeback victory over the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. After falling into an early 2–0 hole in the first period, Vegas responded with three unanswered goals to seize momentum and spark an impressive rally.

I would watch the Finals, but I don't subscribe to ESPN. I do have access to DirecTV Stream through my partner's dad's account. However, ABC is currently unavailable because of a contract dispute.

ABC is likely unreliable on your DirecTV because of a major ongoing contract dispute between DirecTV and the broadcaster E.W. Scripps Company. Since late May, carriage negotiations over fees have stalled, resulting in a nationwide blackout of 54 Scripps-owned local stations across 36 regional markets. If you live in one of these impacted markets (which includes cities like Phoenix, Las Vegas, Tampa, Denver, and Detroit), your local ABC affiliate has been pulled from the standard DirecTV lineup.

I forgot to update about Wednesday's Marlies game. They lost. The winning goal was a mistake late in the 3rd. They lost 4-3 to tie the series.

Tonight the final home game of the series they played strong and won 5-1. They now head back to Scranton needing to win 1 of the 2 games there to advance to the Caulder Cup.

But the Golden Knights just got mad and scored 4 goals to end the period. The 2nd goal was actually a ricochet from a Hurricanes player.
The fans were going nuts. They even threw hats into the rink (for Mauter)
Of course, every time I see that beautiful arena, I think of this year's Frozen 4

The Marlies beat Scranton 2-1 in OT in Scanton today and are now bound for the Caulder Cup for the first time since they won it in 2018. The willing goal was scored by Alex Nylander who is the brother of William Nylander who plays for the Leafs. He used to play for Scanton but left 2 years ago to join the Marlies to play in the same city as his brother.

ETA: Marlies last won in 2018.

The Marlies have set a record of sorts. The Marlies finished in 4th place with a .538 winning percentage. They have become the lowest average team to make it to the Caulder Cup. The previous record holder was Scranton in 2004. I guess the side effect of this is that it feels really good to be playing with house money. They are already way ahead of expectations so they cannot disappoint.
