Lou Christie's first hit was not on the list. It is now. He co-wrote The Gypsy Cried with pianist Twyla Herbert. They also wrote Two Faces Have I, Lightning Strikes, Rhapsody In The Rain and eight other hits for Christie. This reached #24 on the Hot 100 in March 1963:

When XM launched in 2001, the '60s Channel playlist included every top-40 hit of the decade and many more songs that were not top-40 hits. I intended for the list I posted here to show every song ever played on the channel but I somehow managed to miss a lot of top-40 hits and even a few top-ten hits. If I repost a more complete list on New Year's Day 2024, what should I do if I occasionally find more omissions? On XMFan, I could add songs to the original list. On DRC, I can't. If the list is still incomplete in 2060, I will retire and let somebody else take over.

I of course would start a new list for the 2060s. I expect SiriusXM will not add a 2060s channel until halfway through the decade and maybe not even then. We're in the tenth month of 2023 and they still don't have a 2020s channel. I wonder how many Drake songs will be on the Hot 100 in the first week of 2060.

Don't know about you stem cell drinkers, but there's a good chance I won't hear any music from the 2060s.

Here is another big hit that is missing from the list. Foolish Little Girl was written by Howard Greenfield and Helen Miller and was a #4 hit for the Shirelles in May 1963. Greenfield also co-wrote Oh! Carol, Calendar Girl, Little Devil, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, Next Door To An Angel, Crying In The Rain, Don't Hide Your Love, Puppet Man, Everybody's Somebody's Fool, My Heart Has A Mind Of Its Own, Love Will Keep Us Together and dozens of other 1960s-70s hits as well as the theme songs to the TV series Gidget and Bewitched.
