No, I haven't found any more missing songs. Yay! Actually, I've been busy trying to identify the uncredited background singers on a large number of songs. Betty Everett's 1964 hit It's In His Kiss featured the Opals, an East Chicago trio including Rose Addison, Myra Tillison and Rose "Tootsie" Jackson. The Opals released four singles, 1962-65. None of them charted. Here is their first one, Hop, Skip & Jump:

I found another – another! – top-ten hit missing from the list. The Fortunes' You've Got Your Troubles was written by Roger Cook and Roger Greenaway and reached #7 on the Hot 100 in October 1965. Cook and Greenaway also wrote the Fortunes' This Golden Ring and Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again, the English Congregation's Softly Whispering I Love You and (with Allan Clarke) the Hollies' Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress).

I would go back and count all the missing songs that I had to add – but I fear the number would be much greater than 98. My user name is a tribute to the radio station I listened to when I was a child: "Color Radio Channel 98" KFWB. It was top-40 from 1958 to 1968. Today the station is Spanish oldies "La Mera Mera."

Because I'm not very far from the Mississippi River, we have TV/Radio stations, some of their call letters start with K and some with W. It wasn't until I was older did I learn the beginning letter is based on which side of the Mississippi you're on...

Staying in topic, keep on posting omitted songs.

So it's like the Continental Divide for media.

I think there is or at least was one station that is Kxxx but east of the Mississippi. Was named before the system and kept it's letters.

I always thought that WKRP was named wrong but then I realized it is west of the Ohio river not the Mississippi.

All radio stations in Canada start with a C. They can use whatever monocker they want but they must broadcast their call letters once an hour.

Beginning in 1921, radio stations in the 10 westernmost states were assigned call letters starting with K and stations in the 38 easternmost states were assigned call letters starting with W. In January 1923, the Mississippi River became the dividing line. Since that time, stations in Kansas, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Louisiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Miissouri have been given call letters starting with K. Many midwest stations that went on the air prior to 1923 still have call letters beginning with W.

Prior to 1921, the Department of Commerce assigned call letters beginning with K for new radio stations. That explains KDKA in Pittsburgh and KYW in Chicago (which later moved to Philadelphia).

Yes, that is the history but WHY K & W?

Those letters were assigned randomly. In 1912, delegates from 37 nations attended an International Radiotelegraph Convention in London, England. Several standards and regulations were adopted, including the assignation of a specific initial call letter to each country. A total of 81 nations agreed to the standards. Radio stations in Germany would have call letters beginning with A or D; France would use F; Canada would use C; Mexico would use X; Argentina would use L; Brazil would use Z; England would use B or M; the United States would use K or W or (for Naval and Coast Guard stations) N.

Smaller nations didn't even get an entire letter. For example, call letters of radio stations in Ireland had to begin with either EI or EJ.

Here is another top-ten hit that was not on the list. Finger Poppin’ Time by Hank Ballard & The Midnighters reached #7 in August 1960. We can also add Dinah Washington's Love Walked In, which peaked at #15 in November 1960, and Jackie Wilson's A Woman, A Lover, A Friend, which peaked at #15 in August 1960. All were played during a countdown show.

Six more additions, heard during a countdown show:

Don’t Go Near The Indians – Rex Allen/Merry Melody Singers (17/1962)
Don’t You Believe It – Andy Williams (39/1962)
I Remember You – Frank Ifield (5/1962)
My Own True Love – Duprees (13/1962)
Torture – Kris Jensen (20/1962)
Warmed Over Kisses (Left Over Love) – Brian Hyland (25/1962)

Kris Jensen – his real name is Peter Jensen – released 17 singles between 1959 and 1970 including remakes of Roy Orbison's Claudette and Kris Kristofferson's Me & Bobby MGee. Here is Torture, his only song to make the Hot 100:

The Vogues' 1968 remake of Till is on the list. We can add the original version by the Angels, a trio from Orange, New Jersey. This was their first chart hit, peaking at #14 on the Hot 100 in January 1962. They would have a number-one hit in August 1963 with My Boyfriend's Back.
