What's creepy to me is when bands like Cheap Trick perform songs like Surrender when they're in their 60s.
I suppose it depends on where they were singing it, and what the context was.
Were they celebrating the N-Bomb, or was it incidental to the reason that they were singing it?
Either way, don't say it, if you aren't black or ready to catch heat for it. It's dangerous no matter how good your intentions are.
I'm sure the age gap wasn't as much as it was for Sweet Caroline.

True... a few of my other favorites from him (Vincent, Castles in the Air) did not reach the top 10.
I actually like his version of Crying more than I like the Roy Orbison original.
