I had to listen to it to believe what it was. Not very enjoyable. They took 2 good songs and made them terrible.

They remade the 10cc song "I'm Not In Love" and it charted @ #7 so we can fogoe discussing this abomination in the One Hit Wonder Thread.

28: DON'T BE CRUEL - CHEAP TRICK

They're one of my all-time favorite bands, and I was so happy they were having hits again...but I've never liked this. And boy, has it not aged well.

27: THE PROMISE - WHEN IN ROME

One of my wife's favorite tunes. Oh, BTW - I got married Friday. SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

24: A WORD IN SPANISH - ELTON JOHN

I dunno if I've ever heard this, & I ain't clickin' YouTube to find out.

2: WILD WILD WEST - THE ESCAPE CLUB
1: KOKOMO - THE BEACH BOYS

Literally 2 of my most-hated songs EVER, & here they are at the top of the charts. No wonder I was barely listening to the radio during this era. Man, you talk about making a case for the explosion of hardcore rap & grunge just a couple years later...

First, congratulations. And here you are on your honeymoon posting in the countdown thread. I admire your dedication.

Those top 2 songs were ones of the few I liked on this countdown.

We've been together 30 years. The more I'm outta her hair, the better.

Basically, we've gotten old enough that it just doesn't make sense anymore for it not to be "legal". Covid really drove home the point that if something really bad happened to one of us, it would leave the other person with zero say in what happened. We've been talking about it forever, but all the pieces fell into place over my 2 week vacation. We got the license Tuesday, & saw a judge Friday. I was kinda surprised by how little you actually have to do to get hitched.

I posted on another site that I remember this one. I recorded the video on videocassette, but never heard the song on the radio.
