Dude
Good 18
Okay 5
Bad 17
Typical 1989. A bunch of great songs and a bunch of crap songs. Very polarized countdown.
A lot of good hard rock on the Hot 100 this week: Bon Jovi, Kix, Tesla, Bad English, Alice Cooper, Skid Row, Whitesnake, Aerosmith x2, Great White, Motley Crue x2, Fiona/Winger, Bonham, Kiss, White Lion. You probably won't find a single hard rock song on the Hot 100 for the whole year of 2021!
29 DON’T MAKE ME OVER – Sybil
07 PUMP UP THE JAM – Technotronic
04 BACK TO LIFE – Soul II Soul
Got that early 90s sound for sure.
13 THIS ONE’S FOR THE CHILDREN – New Kids On The Block
02 ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE – Phil Collins
My guess.
01 WE DIDN’T START THE FIRE – Billy Joel
My friend's kid picked this one. Not sure about his old room mate yet.

I liked this album and still listen to it once and a while.
I thought this would have made it into the top 40 with all of the airplay it got.
I thought these would have charted in the 80's.

I only had 9.

See two-hit wonder thread.

• This is the fourth week Whodini is at #101.
• I didn't remember Nolan Thomas, but he's looking like a wannabe teen sensation.

Dude
I may have to add this to the "I Can't Believe It's Not A Top 40" thread. I woulda sworn it was bigger than #87.
I think this one may have come along too early in the evolution of hip hop.
I listened to the end of the countdown from 12/24. Alan only mentioned the Rad Party Countdown.
