Unless I'm missing something
30 DE Digable Planets - Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)
This is the one that repeats "I'm cool that that, I'm cool like that" then "I'm peace like that, I'm peace like that" with the cool horns lick.

28 28 Sade - No Ordinary Love
From the film Indecent Proposal. I'd bet Hectic's paycheck you know this one and would give it at least a 'pretty good'.

26 26 Dan Baird - I Love You Period
It's the dude who sang "Keep Your Hands To Yourself" (I got a little change in my pocket going jing a ling a ling...)

05 04 Wreckx-N-Effect - Rump Shaker
"All I wanna do is zoom a zoom zoom zoom and a poom poom (Just shake ya rump!) ... Check baby check baby 1 2 3 4 check baby check baby 1 2 3 ..."

It's good, but I never heard of it before this recent commercial

I know a couple of Sade songs, and I probably heard this one at some point, but there's no "oh yeah" moment for me. So perhaps when we eventually meet for dinner, we'll see if Hectic's paycheck would cover my burger and beer. Probably not.

26 26 Dan Baird - I Love You Period
It's the dude who sang "Keep Your Hands To Yourself" (I got a little change in my pocket going jing a ling a ling...)
Wasn't that the Georgia Satellites? Are you saying he was their lead singer? Anyway, I don't know this other song at all.

05 04 Wreckx-N-Effect - Rump Shaker
"All I wanna do is zoom a zoom zoom zoom and a poom poom (Just shake ya rump!) ... Check baby check baby 1 2 3 4 check baby check baby 1 2 3 ..."
I know it, because I've absorbed it over the years. I may have heard it when it came out, but I can't recall. It's ok, I'd give it a "meh".

Yes, Dan Baird was the Georgia Satellites' lead singer. He wrote Keep Your Hands To Yourself, which got to #2 on the Hot 100 in February 1987. Baird quit the group in 1990. He released four solo singles. I Love You Period reached #5 on the mainstream rock chart in December 1992 and peaked at #26 on the Hot 100 in January 1993. The One I Am got to #13 on the mainstream rock chart in February 1993. His next two singles, Look At What You Started and Younger Face, never charted. Look At What You Started was cut to 4:32 for release as a single. Here is the 5:10 version from Baird's Love Songs For The Hearing Impaired album. The uncredited backing vocalists are Terry Anderson, Pat Buchanon and Brendan O'Brien. The drummer is Georgia Satellites drummer Mauro Magellan.

I know, I know. You're all wondering if the title of any hit song besides Prince's 7 was a single-digit number. Britney Spears' 3 debuted at number one on the October 24 2009 Hot 100 – and dropped to #5 the following week. 8 by Billie Eilish got to #79 in April 2019. Drake's 9 reached #45 in May 2016.

"One" is a word, not a digit. In June 1969, Three Dog Night reached #5 on the Hot 100 with One, written by Harry Nilsson. Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Tyrese, Faith Hill, Meek Mill, Creed, Chainsmokers, Metallica, Bee Gees, Mary J. Blige/Drake and Usher/Michelle Chamuel have also had hits with a song titled One – all of them different.

Shoop & Whatta Man are both on my most-hated/lobster-song lists.

Shoop is top-tier bad, alongside Doors "Alabama Song", Spice Girls "Wannabe" and Twisted Sister's cover of "Leader Of The Pack".

Whatta Man (and Please Forgive Me) are second-tier bad, alongside Morris Albert "Feelings", Simply Red "If You Don't Know Me By Now" and
Warrant "Cherry Pie".
