Holy shit! They had 20 top 10 hits in the UK 2004-2013?? I just heard them for the first time a few years ago with "Where Did The Guitars Go" and assumed they were just another brand new post-grunge band from Podunk, WHerever. I had no idea they were gigantic! In Britain, the band McFly had a number 1 single covering the song in 2006.
This fuckin' show. Not only did I not like anything from it that crossed my path back in the day. But they brought back so many mostly-forgotten songs I never needed to hear again into daily rotation around the world. The song was performed on a 2013 episode of Glee. IMO, this is where the resurgence started.
Totally agree. Love Joel. But that video still cracks me up every time. Especially "And remember Billy has an album named 'An Innocent Man', which is very funny."You have to hand it to him; he wrote some pretty fucking good songs, and he's one of the best contemporary pianists around.
See above.I gather he’s calling Billy Joel derivative. I get it, but total respect for Billy Joel and his career.
Love Zep. But they also "borrowed" to create every song except one on their debut album. This article says 3 of the songs were Zep originals. But I read an article years ago that pinned two more of the songs as being ripped off as well.Led Zeppelin also, people mock them for having “borrowed” the Stairway riff.
