Adventures In Koopland

To avoid the off-topic penalty. I need those 15 yards ....

Yea but that would involve me dealing with my feelings and being introspective......like a girl.

Pam's told me to do that a million times. It seems so foreign and alien I have seriously considered calling ICE on her.

It's hard dealing with feelings. As a guy you are pretty much told from an early age that feelings are for girls. At least that was the old thinking. For an old fart like me, its pretty ingrained. But I think you are 20 years younger than me to there might still be hope.

I am surprised Pam is still around. She seems to be giving you lots of second chances. Likely more than you deserve. The question you should ask yourself is "is keeping Pam around worth feeling like a girl?'.

There's a thread for that

Off-topic is a personal foul? Who decided that? I thought it was more like delay of game or encroachment and only 5.

This is the most important thing we should discuss.

My mom was always there for me to talk about anything. And my dad was European (which is a synonym for gay) so he too was always there for me if I need to talk about emotions and feelings.

And Pam begs me to share my feelings with her. But as I've posted about before, that can get real dark real quick.

So IDK where I get it from, not wanting to be open about real stuff. Talking about my emotions makes me feel worse than not talking about them. However it's not that hard to connect the dots between me not being willing to open up about shit and my substance issues.

I clearly have some deep seated issues that I am unwilling to work hard enough to both figure out what they are and how to address them. I've tried. Pam got me in 2 different rehabs in the past 2 years and she got me to go to a therapist. All of those were fine. Rehab is a place to even out for awhile and learn some shit along the way. The therapist was fine too. He was a nice guy and I liked him but he was not much different from talking to a friend....except I had to pay him every week.

I have never been a patient person. I'll try therapy for a couple months and when I see zero progress I say fuck it and go buy some blow. Even though I know that will eventually fuck shit up with Pam. But at the time I'm able to rationalize how it's never really that bad a decision.

I am surprised Pam is still around. She seems to be giving you lots of second chances. Likely more than you deserve. The question you should ask yourself is "is keeping Pam around worth feeling like a girl?'.

She has given me somewhere around 100 second chances. I am taking advantage of her love and kindness. I love her so much. I've never wanted a girl more. Yet I still act like a fucking child, knowing I will hurt her over and over. Afterwards, every time, I tell her I will fucking be more committed to getting better. And I really do mean it when I say it. Then a week or two goes by and I seem to forget about how horrible knowing I hurt her was and how shitty it was groveling to hope for yet another second chance.

Look, at some point I should face facts that I'm weak about this shit. Since I was 16 the longest consecutive sober time I've had was 6 months. If I really love her the way I feel I do I need to let her go to not put her though this cycle over and over. I really don't want to do that but maybe if I do and then actually manage to put together real time I can try to get her back.

This kinda describes what I just talked about and how I feel for Pam:

"You're gonna keep my soul, it was yours to have long ago."

IDK what Chadwick was thinking when he wrote it but to me it's not that deep. Even while making bad decisions I know who is really important but all aspects of life get so clouded and misguided. When I have moments of real clarity I know she is my soul.....but even after I realize how important that is....here comes the next verse and everything is clouded again, except each successive verse is a little more upsetting than the last.

It's not a bad thing to have emotions or feelings. Being overly emotional and letting your emotions run your life is bad, and on the opposite end of the spectrum being a heartless clod who doesn't feel anything is also bad.

In my case, if I am showing any type of emotion (anger, sadness, happiness, whatever) you know it's genuine, because that's not something I can fake.

And, oh yeah, to avoid penalties, play for the Chiefs.

All right, help me out guys. As always, I've pissed Pam off again so she's not doing her womanly duty and is selfishly refusing to help me with interior decorating. Thus I'm forced to reluctantly ask for help from you dorks.

I bought these four 8x10s...two of them are highlights from LII and the other two from LIX.

I'm trying to figure out how to hang them and clearly my decisions so far are not working. I was hoping I wouldn't have to move any of those four metal things I've got on the wall cuz they're a pain in the ass to hang up properly.

So any suggestions?

I was thinking maybe I could hang them on either side of the Eagle above the window, but then I won't look at them all the time. I buy this shit to look at. If they're around the TV I'm constantly going to be looking at them.

The more I look at where I chose to hang them the more I get angry at myself and think it is disgusting placement so I really need help here.

Oh and the one on the bottom on the left hand side is signed by BG so that's awesome. I'm not an autograph guy and the other three only cost $8 each with free shipping but that BG strip sack pic which ended the Patriots hope in LII was the only one you could buy. The Eagles website didn't have a non-signed version.

So I spent about 12.5 times more to get one signed by Brandon Graham. And I know I'm not an autograph guy but it is freaking cool now that I have it and totally worth it.

You got paintings from rappers?

I'm assuming this is a joke I don't get.

Not helpful.

If you don't have any constructive suggestions pipe down......(which coincidentally is what your mom asks me to do to her every night). See??? That's a joke that doesn't need an explanation.

You do dead people? Gross.

Most of that stuff belongs in the garage or basement man-cave.
Get some grown-up art for your main living spaces.

Your mom is my main living space.

Real suggestions are still welcome cause they are getting hung up there somewhere.

I have the Civil War and Declaration of Independence paintings. But I live alone and The Birds make me happy. If I ever get to live with Pam I'll do whatever she wants with the art. But she's a huge fan too so she won't make me hide it but also will likely not allow it as the main living room show pieces.

His entire place is a man-cave, so I don't think this applies. While I'd recommend having a section of a wall to display the sports stuff - going from top to bottom, with the stuff you want to see close-up at eye level - I'd say that putting that stuff around the TV isn't that bad of an idea. It's not like the TV is anything other than an appliance for watching sports anyway.

But where I lose it is having the old-timey grandmother clock in the center over the TV. That should definitely go on a wall somewhere, at a normal height, over a wood table or something. Ours is right in the entry foyer (obviously a Channukah pic).
