All Things Disney - Except Movies

So just as a giant Disney nerd, all politics behind the decision on both Disney corporate and FL state aside, this is both a good and bad thing.

BAD: It will make it harder for Disney to build stuff quickly. Right now they can basically approve all their shit themselves. This will make permits and all that harder to get.

GOOD: It makes Bob Chapek look even worse. Before he jumped into politics, everyone already hated him. He is the WORST when it comes to parks and anything that makes him look bad is a good thing for parks fans. He has 10 or 11 months left on his contract and it would be fantastic if he got the boot after only 1 contract.

That bastard turned FastPass (free unlimited line skipping) into paid Genie+ (paid limited line skipping).

It appears that Disney’s new paid services Genie+ and Lightning Lane access aren’t going to disappear from the Guest experience any time soon as Disney’s Q1 2022 results reveal them to be a massive success.

According to Disney CEO Bob Chapek, “In the quarter, more than a third of domestic Park Guests purchased either Genie+, Lightning Lane, or both. That number rose to more than 50% during the holiday period.”

Genie+ and Lightning Lane emerged as the new paid replacements for Disney’s Fast Pass system for attractions, shows, and character sightings. Unlike their predecessor, they only offer Guests the chance to skip the Standby line once or twice a day, and they cost Guests extra money. Disney’s FastPass was free and allowed Guests to skip the line multiple times throughout the day.

Many Guests have spoken out, calling the new tools a pay-more-for-less situation. That, combined with reportedly long wait times due to service demand and finicky technology, have made Genie+ and Lightning Lane subjects of controversy and debate among Guests and Fanatics.

However, numbers cannot lie, and it is clear that Guests are still willing to take any chance they can get to skip the infamously long lines for Disney attractions, even if it means paying a little extra.

You may get 30 min early park entry for staying on prop...USE THAT TO DO RISE! You will still have to wait in line. Then do Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. That's my favorite ride in the park. It's so Disney. A classic yet modern dark ride. Then do Star Tours. It's an old ride but they refreshed it a few years back and I really love it. And you probably won't have to wait too long for it.

Don't skip out on the other side of the park. You gotta do Tower of Terror. That Twilight Zone shit is so creepy cool. Rockin Roller Coaster is fun too but ToT is way better.

If you can eat at 50's Prime Time Diner you will not be disappointed

Genie+ isn't really worth is if you're on prop and not doing Magic Kingdom.

Have a great time man. I'm a bit jealous.

The Art Of Animation resort at Walt Disney World opened in May 2012 and is themed to Cars, Finding Nemo, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid. Toy Story Hotel opened in June 2016 at the Shanghai Disney Resort. Now a Disneyland hotel will be re-themed with Pixar characters. Ka-chow!

Hi! I left Disney this morning. We did Rise (started mediocre but kept getting better!) and Smugglers Run (that was good too). Also, the Mickey's Runaway Railway was better than I expected. I'm in Orlando at an arcade so my son can play a Japanese video game called Sound Voltex for a couple hours. Then it's a three hour drive to Cape Coral to visit family. Just poking my head in briefly to catch up a little. I'm only halfway through the VJ so I won't be in that thread yet. They originally said 1980 so I guessed "Call Me". But they actually played 1988 so I had to make an on the fly guess ("Man In The Mirror"). I'll hear the rest of the VJ on my upcoming drive to see how poorly I do with no time to think it out! Bye for now!

You're definitely showing a proper commitment to DRC. Keep it up.

Remember how I went on and on abt how cool the robot spiderman is at avengers campus in California adventure? Well here's why the run the stunt so far from guests. He didn't detach from the wire that launches him at the and this happened. Super cool it was caught on video.

Article seems a bit exaggerated. I mean, more hated on the internet than pedos, school shooters, terrorists and ex-DRC members?

Also, can't get through the article without a dictionary: wasp-waisted, excoriating...
