Like Enya and Snow, here's another act that had two top 40s and were basically done on the chart... then a decade or two later were invited to guest on a song that became a 3rd top 40 for them.

Cameo
#6 "Word Up" (1986)
#21 "Candy" (1986)
then
#2 "Loverboy" (2001) with Mariah Carey

#6 Midnight At The Oasis"
#12 "I'm A Woman"

I only know "Midnight" and only thanks to SXM.
I just pulled-up that 2nd song. Don't believe I've ever heard it. But what's often the case, is that it could've closely followed the first hit, which would give it a short-lived bump.

I remember I'm A Woman. KHJ and KRLA played the song but it did better nationally than here in Los Angeles. It was on the KHJ Thirty for only three weeks, peaking at #24 on March 4, 1975. Here is a live performance from 2023 at Buddy Guy's Legends blues club in Chicago:

This guy shoulda been in the Madness about 'Biggest Not-a-2-hit-wonder-but-has-2-top40s'.

And file him under 'in a superstar band' with Pete Townsend and Lindsey Buckingham.

Stephen Stills
#14 "Love the One You're With"
#37 "Sit Yourself Down"
#42 "Marianne"
#43 "Change Partners"

I only know "Love the One"

I remember Sit Yourself Down. KRLA, KMET and KPPC played it – but KHJ never did. The song featured backing vocals by David Crosby, Graham Nash, John Sebastian, Claudia Linnear, Rita Coolidge and Priscilla Jones. Stills and Coolidge were dating in 1970-71. Jones was her sister. On October 3, 2014, Jones' husband Michael Siebert shot and killed her, then took his own life. Here are 78-year-old Stephen Stills and 78-year-old Eric Clapton performing Love The One You're With in 2023. (The video is erroneously labeled Sit Yourself Down.)

The title track of Stills' Thoroughfare Gap was released as a single in November 1978 but failed to chart. Here is the B-side, Lowdown. No, not the Boz Scaggs song; Stills co-wrote this one. The backing vocalists are Kitty Terry, Lisa Roberts, Brooks Hunnicutt, Verna Richardson, pianist Mike Finnigan, bassist George Perry and drummer Joe Vitale.

I knew the first one back then, still know it now and hear it now. The second one I only know because of the VJ. I say subjectively a OHW.
