It's the annual summer gas scam. If they didn't sell more expensive gas in the summer, the winter gas will explode with the heat. Paraphrasing the petroleum companies. It's funny the winter gas seems fine in Texas and California in the winter. No widespread explosions.

It's not a scam. Cold-weather gas is more volatile, which helps cold engines to run. In hot weather, the same gas would be more vaporous, meaning some of the gas you're paying for would be vaporized into the air when you fill up. So summer gas is denser.

But summer gas prices are probably affected more by usage. People travel more in the summer.

So I'm getting a car tomorrow. I'm heading up to Melbourne so my aunt and uncle can help me out since I've never bought a car from a dealership before. Also I'm going to buy it outright and I think I'm getting this:

My uncle found it. My budget is 20k so this fits. And only 19,000 miles seems pretty good. IDK, it's a car. All I need it for is to get me to and from Disney and around town here. This thing should last me the better part of 10 years.

I thought about getting a new one and financing but I'd like to avoid any new monthly bills if possible. I'm not totally set on the Kona but right now it's leading the pack. We'll see what I actually drive home with tomorrow and if I come home with a payment plan or not.

Looks like a nice car, but I'd love to be there at the DMV when they ask what the color is, and you have to say "Cactus Fern". Ahhhahahahhhh!
